Canes, so you're saying that Shanny should have let Fat Al do whatever he wanted? The team is the BOSS. If I don't de exactly what my BOSS tells me to, I get FIRED. Same with most people. The fact that Fat Al didn't get CUT a year and a half ago tells me that Haynesworth WON the altercation with Shanny.

So in a span of 24 hours the Redskins jettisoned two big mistakes. We pretty much got zero value for Haynesworth and McNabb, but I suppose there's something to be said for cutting dead weight.

Also, for all the Redskins spending, we were well under cap before this all started. I'm sure now we have tons of space to make a move.

Quite possible that that could accidently happen, but as you might remember, Shanny studied Haynesworth and saw all of his weaknesses and tried to correct them. Now, he can use that same knowledge to exploit him much the way Jim Schwartz, his former DC, did to Al, in 2009, when we played the Lions.

No one who blames Mikey seems to explain what he should have done or what he did wrong other then the sweeping statement that he was stubborn. After signing lard butt for megabucks it was then 50% Mike's job to figure out how to get him to care. Yeah, right.

New rules will make them spend, going into day three they have more cap room now than when they started.... They have to be working on something big

I know they have to spend the money. My question is what are they going to spend it on. You can get a filet mignon at a nice restaurant or you can go and get a dozen stale hamburgers for the same price. I'd prefer the filet, personally but so far we've been getting stale burgers this year.

I am not worried at all about "BB getting the most out of Haynesworth." Big Al will be what be always has been, a fat loser of a human being. He does not listen to anyone, and Belicheck wil be no different. Sure he might make a nice play here and there, but we all know he will be crying for the sidelines shortly after. As far as I'm concerned he had one dominating season in his contract year.........and well, he got his big payday, so he doesn't give a rat's arse about anything else. Good riddance!

Since Haynesworth's offenses - road rage incident, sexual inappropriate touching, happened before the lockout, Haynesworth should also be visiting the Commish along with BB. Since Big Ben got suspended w/o a conviction so should Big Al. That makes it even more amazing that we got anything for him.

The problem was the Mike didn't get to know Al and ensure they had developed a system of mutual respect for each other both personally and professionally before asking him to play football. Did Mike ever ask Al how he felt about his life? Did he ever ask about Al's deepest desires, feelings or fears in life? Darn it, did he ever ask him once about daffodils?

Belichick won't make that mistake, he'll be fine...

Stokely is the only one of the acquisitions that I would consider dumpster diving and he won't make the team, but he could help Keenan train some of these young WRs, since he played in the system fire 2 years.

(106.7 just reported that Stokely won't be joining the Skins after all)

Stallworth may our may not make it and if he doesn't they lose nothing. However, if he world out you get a WR with big play capability for next to nothing.

All of the other acquisitions aren't even in the alley that the dumpster is in! They may not be penthouse guys, but by resigning Moss the team got the FA WR that had been the most productive over the last several years and they didn't have to give him insane money.

Fellaz, ya'll do know that Fatboy is gonna kill us on 12/11 right? I despise the guy but before that game I'm pretty sure Bellichek is gonna say "hey, we're about to play the Skins, don't forget how they treated you".

Moss does not impress me. He hasn't for the last couple of years. He's not terrible, but he's not a Star either. The Codfield signing isn't a bad one, but definitely not a big name by any stretch of the imagination. We're shopping in the bargain bin, and that's not the shelf I even have an interest in looking at when we go shopping for players.

If we're going to LOSE a ton of games (probably 10-12 this year) I at least want to be entertained, and I don't see this team being able to do that at this point.

It doesn't matter if he impresses you or of he is a star. The simple fact is, out of all of the WRs that were available, Moss has been the most productive over his career and more importantly over the last few years.

So again, I really don't care if you don't like him, the facts are facts.

If Kory L. is starting at left guard and Belicheck matches up Haynesworth over him, I would be concerned on pass protection (remember how Al exploited the small Bear O linemen). Big AL lined up against a guy like Harvey Dahl, no concerns.

Jim Schwartz, the former Haynesworth DC, exploited the poor technique playing Haynesworth. This was an exmple of a former Big AL coach knowing just how to attack Haynesworth. Mike Knows Al's weaknesses.

Lions 2009 vs Redskins - Haynesworth starting D Tackle 2 tackles. 1 Sack
Lions 154 yards 4.3 yard avg. Kevin Smith had a 101 rushing before leaving the game with a shoulder injury. Al did his infamous carting off the field injury thing a couple of time in that game.

The lowly Lions even executed a 99 yard meticlulous drive down the field on us.

Lions 19- Redskins - 14

I think Belichik will play Haynesworth as a "3" technicque DL, which is what Haynesworth has always wanted. I explained this in dtail on here last year when everyone was freaking out about the switch to 3-4. You can play a 3-4 almost like you play a traditional 4-3 and vice versa.

A couple of examples:
1980's Giants, where Belichick was the DC, they played a supposed 3-4. But really, they played LT like a 4-3 end. he had one gap responsibility and rarely ever dropped into coverage.

NYG defense the past 5 years has been a 4-3. But Cofield, our newly signed DL has been listed on their roster as a NT. (Go look it up. ) They play a modified 4-3 where they have a NT playing "0" or "1" technique covering two gaps and then three other DL's with one gap responsiblity freeing them up to rush the passer and/or disrupt the backfield.

Belichick will play Haynesworth a DE, "3" technique, where he is lined up on the outside shoulder of a guard. Exactly the same as he did in Tennesee as a 4-3 DT, but we'll all call him a 3-4 DE.
