Okay, so this offense is a work in progress, but it's not instilling much confidence in Skins fans or much fear in opposing defenses. The offensive line remains the biggest weakness in my eyes, since every success on offense is attributable to what the hogs do in the trenches. We badly need to shore that up and this mediocre offense might surprise some people.

Tell you what, I'd be happy if we got Davin Joseph and Ryan Harris on the line...

I wish I had your confidence. I'm starting to think that they aren't going to address the OL, because they like what they have. If they don't bring in a RT and at least one OG, they are just planning to tank the season (or they're morons).

This offense right now wouldn't scare most college defenses. There is not a single Star caliber player on that entire side of the ball. This is going to be a very difficult offensive team to watch if something doesn't change.

I think RT Brown will re-sign and we'll pick up depth at OG

it seems theyre going cheapo on the WR's, so one would think the line would be addressed heavily. But who knows

brad, right now my feeling is that they're throwing the 2011 season away... flushing it down the toilet before it even starts. Definitely on the offensive side of the ball.

Stallworth will NOT be the #2 WR. AA had 871 yds last yr. More than Stallworth has had in 1 season since2005. We obtained Jabar Gaffney. I'd be surprised if Stallworth makes the team.

K Will over Royster ar RB.

Casey Rabach had been told of his impending release, so I took him off the list. The o-line is looking mighty thin. Hopefully we start seeing signings trickle in.

Added Chris Chester as the RG since that's where he's played most of his career.

I think Chester, Lichtensteiger and Montgomery will all compete for both Center and Guard. Add Artis Hicks to the Guard competition and may the best two men win. I am assuming/hoping that another free agent guard will be signed and J. Brown will be re-signed.

I think the FO has been slow in addressing the O-line because there is SO MUCH going on in such a short time. (Asomugha hasn't even signed yet!) They just signed Chester and I bet now that they've secured all the draft picks and solidified the DLine, they will turn their attention to J.Brown and other OL FA's.

I also think since the McNabb experiment failed, that Mike/Kyle want to develop this offense with their own personnel. (no more band-aid fixes) I'm not saying it will work, but I think they envision an offense run by Beck that emphasizes precision and quick tempo (two things McNabb could not do). I think the offensive system may be pretty good if run properly. We may not start the season with household names, but by the end of the season, some budding stars may be emerging.

The real question for the offense, IMO, is how the run blocking and running game performs. Does Torain stay healthy? Does the O-line open holes?
Build through the draft!

I'm thinking that the RB out of Nebraska might 'benefit' from Mike's tutoring - this kid has a lot of heart

I'm looking for him to become another Shanahan 'find' as the season develops

You can change FB1 to Young and change TE3 (or cut) to Sellers.

Doc Walker has reported that the skins have changed Sellers to TE. Now maybe they are just seeing how Young works out at FB and if they are happy with him Sellers will get the boot.

Putting Sellers at TE makes a lot of sense to me. He'll basically play what Yoder did a few years ago. More of a blocking TE. Seller's has a lot of value on special teams and in our short yardage passing game. He get's nicked up a bit only b/c he's a part of so many plays and is in his early to mid 30's. This is a good way to get a season or two more out of him. Not to mention get another young RB on this team. Good move also being that he played TE under Joe Gibbs and has the size.

Asking because I haven't read anything on why we aquired Chester - Do you think that they brought him in to play center?

I think Hicks proved, last year, that he is a reliable back up ti fill in when an injury occurs, like he has been his entire career. Agree with you on another FA and Brown.

I also think since the McNabb experiment failed, that Mike/Kyle want to develop this offense with their own personnel. I think that you are right. Clearly, we are not signing guys that will get us a championship this year. Next years, draft picks and free agents signed will have a different tone. If we can't call it rebuilding, we definitely are building.

The real question for the offense, IMO, is how the run blocking and running game performs. Does Torain stay healthy? Does the O-line open holes?

I agree with you that run blocking will be a foucus this year. I think that I may have read an article that the play calling will be more balanced this year.
