Your Top 5 Free Agent Targets
Hey everyone! The lockout is over and utter chaos is about to go down in about 16 hours. I honestly cant wait, I feel like Ive saved all my money all summer and now I get a week of awesomeness for it! Anyways with FA here, What our your top 5 FA's you want the Redskins to sign? These our mine in order...
1. Ryan Harris (RT): Young, a few injury years but a drafted Shanny guy and is only 26 and had a great year in 2009 when he started all 16 games. Young bookend to pair up with Trent for awhile.
2. Marshal Yanda (G): Not sure if Baltimore lets him get away, but if they did I would be waiting with a boat load of cash. Another young lineman with high ceiling and a pretty proven commodity. If Baltimore is making it a cheif concern to not let him go, that means I want him. (I trust their scouting more than ours lol)
3. Aubrayo Franklin (NT): He is one of the best Run Stopping, block absorbing NT's in the game. He can help bring down the 4.6 ypc we allowed in the run game. I know he is 30 years old, but is, by all accounts, a selfless guy and character guy. 30 isnt actually bad for a NT who usually hold up late into their careers.
4. Sidney Rice (WR): While I do want to see the young guys step in. Actually also intrigued by (stop me if youve heard this before)...yea Ill say it, Malcolm Kelly. I feel there is a reason they held on to him but Rice is a proven big physical receiver that can really help....gulp....Beck.
5. Nnamdi Asomugha (CB): I know I will be chastized for this. I know no one wants to see the Redskins do what they always do and over spend for a FA. The fact is Rogers wants out, I doubt if we even offered an equal contract value to wherever he ends up going, that he would stay. We will need a CB. It doesnt have to be Asomugha. I wouldnt mind Cromartie or Johnathan Joseph at the right price. I highly doubt Nnamdi would even consider Washington, but if its there and weve signed some lineman already. As Tom Cruise said "Sometimes you just gotta say....What the F###"
Honorable Mention: David Harris (ILB), D'Qwell Jackson (ILB), Johnathan Joseph (CB), Tyson Clabo (G), Harvey Dahl (T)
And for all those that think we should just not sign any big names that its the faulty "old way". This is an extremely unique year in the fact that the Redskins our pretty well under the cap, and there are going to be over 400 UFA's. I dont want to ignore this opportunity just because Cerrato and Snyder used to fly around and buy 30 year old guys or bad character guys.

I'll assume you dont want us to include re-signed FAs
So I'll say
1) AUBRAYO FRANKLIN
We need a NT he's the best value available.
2)CULLEN JENKINS
I didn't like the sound of this guy at first, It came off as one of those flashy signings. If we can avoid breaking the bank for him we should pursue. Could you imagine the threat of Franklin pushing the middle with Jenkins, Carriker, Kerrigan and Orakpo closing the pocket? Complete and utter Chaos.
3)RYAN HARRIS
Familiar wiht the Scheme has had some time to develop hes young can't say anything bad about this guy and it looks like he wants to be here. Unless you can keep Jamaal brown for a steal Ryan Harris is the direction Id like to see them go
4)HARVEY DAHL
He's a presence for the Falcons. Has reputation for playing with a mean streak. Theres nothing better than a lineman who plays with a chip on his shoulder. Falcons Have 2 all-star linemen to re-sign this year Dahl is one of them (tyson clabo) the team may not be able to give someone what he wants
5) CARL NICKS/ JAHRI EVANS
Same situation as Dahl the saints have 2 Pro-bowl caliber Gs who will both want their contracts to resemble their accomplishments. In any scenario someone might feel de-valued
Before I get ripped to peices, I cannot say if 4 and 5 fit into the scheme so my judgement is under the assumption that they can adjust.
I think we have a few youngsters on our team that are ready to step up one being Kevin Barnes so no CBs in fa FOR ME

He's not worth what it will take to bring him here anyway

Just read that Carl Nicks is a restricted free agent. I wanted him too if he fit our scheme.
Fox Sports' Adam Caplan reports Nicks received a first-round tender. One of the best guards in the NFL, Nicks will remain restricted as just a three-year player

Yea just UFA that havent been on the Skins....And I know Nnamdi is a huge loooong shot but at the same time $16million might be worth cutting the field in half for the next 5 years. Especially with Hakeem Nicks, Dez Bryant, Miles Austin, Desean Jackson, and Jeremy Maclin in the division for as far as I can see. I highly doubt it, I am just saying I wont be as mad as a lot of people will be if we do somehow sign him.
I have no problem with bringing in the best CB and paying him what he's worth but I don't understand why he'd want to play here when he can get the money from the Eagles, the Cowboys or the Jets
he'd be a big help but we need a great team not a great CB

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I want young solid character team guys. They may not be the best at their positions but a good team is always better than a sum of prima donnas.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Top Five UFA Targets
1. Santana Moss- well, I cheated... already resigned.
2. Jacoby Jones- seems like he might be available and should be familiar with the offense.
3. Ike Taylor- dependable CB from a proven defense
4. Abrayou Franklin- seems like the best nose tackle available
5. Jamaal Brown- give him more time to prove himself

I want these.....Abrayou Franklin, Jonathan Joseph, Sidney Rice, Robert Gallery, and eric weddle
franklin....an obvious hole that we can fill. He will free up london and help take pressure off of our outside rushers by taking doubles on. he can also stop the run.
Joseph....we arent paying namndi. that being said, joseph is a great cover corner and is FAST. He would be great opposite dhall and when a ball hits his hands he catches it...inmagine that.
Rice....re signing Moss gave us some security at the WR position. Rice does have injury concerns but his ceiling is highhhh. He doesnt have break away speed but he runs great routes and catches everything. redzone.
Gallery....This guy upgrades either OG side...take your pick.
weddle- Goodbye doughty. Hello Weddle. he can do what doughty does for us on a higher level. Smart fast and instinctive he is usually around the ball on every play.
those are my top 5 right now.....hope we can get 1 at least

Not a top FA, but we did add a WR. According to rotoworld, the Skins have agreed to trends with Donte Stallworth.

I hope that we just add FAs that help make us better - If the FO thinks a player is going to make this team better I could care less how fans here or the media feel about their 'rating'
we need to improve our team NOT our fantasy football rating
it's time to stop trying to 'win' the offseason title and try and improve our chances at being competitive during the real season

Rice lacks durability. Weddle won't come here as a back up.
