Casey Anthony

Post by The Hogster »

I'm sure the village lawyer-haters will certainly blame this miscarriage of justice on lawyers. Just like the OJ case was Cochran's fault, this will surely be blamed on a lawyer.

But, in this case, the whole world could see that Jose Baez was the equivalent of Gomer Pile. He sucked. His lawyering didn't get Casey off. At the end of the day, 12 regular Joe's, made this decision.

12 people who try to apply legal principles totally EFF it up. This isn't the lawyer's fault. This is an example of how dumb people are in this country. It's especially true in cases like this. Imagine a world where 12 uneducated idiots get to decide how your open heart surgery should go. You'd wind up with a lot of dead patients because 12 people can't even agree on what side of your body the heart is on.

This lady is guilty as all Hell, but she'll wind up with a movie deal because 12 people don't understand what Guilt Beyond a Reasonable Doubt means. And, if you think Michael Vick got off light, or are still harboring hatred for OJ Simpson, be sure to pull out your Picket Signs for this skank too. Don't pick and choose when to be outraged.

A lawyer tells 12 naive and honest people what the rules are. The 12 naive and honest people do their best to follow the rules, based on the evidence that they were allowed to hear.

Yes... it is the lawyers who have screwed the system up. It is the lawyers whom have twisted, perverted, distorted and complicated the system. This narcisitic little witch is soon to be sucking er... up to... Geraldo because his buddies in the bar have willed it.

Your rant won't fool many of us, Hogster. You know as well as we that the process of jury selection puts this into motion. Jury selection should be completely random. There should be no opportunities to "challenge". Tough. That is all part of the perversion of the system... and it was done, not by jurors, but by lawyers.

The lawyers (including the "judge") would not have fooled me... and that jury would now be locked up tighter than a drum, because there would have been no way she would have gotten a pass from me. Which is precisely why I will never serve on a criminal jury... the scheisters won't permit a knowledgible individual to serve. You know it... I know it.

Oh, we are in absolute agreement... the jurors were idiots... carefully selected for their idiocy... by... carefully guided lawyers.

Yeah, whatever. You do realize that Prosecutors are lawyers too, right? And, the U.S. Constitution sets forth the framework for the criminal justice system. All of the people who wrote it were not lawyers.

You non-lawyers can't have it both ways. If she was convicted, you'd say the system works. When it doesn't, it's the lawyer's fault. You people regurgitate anti-lawyer venom whenever it's convenient. Let someone run your mother over driving drunk, or let your child consume something that makes them deathly ill, and the first thing you'll be doing is looking for a good lawyer.

People are just stupid for the most part, period. Verdicts like this prove it.

That would explain why they suck, too...

And, the U.S. Constitution sets forth the framework for the criminal justice system. All of the people who wrote it were not lawyers.
It was the lawyers who put the graffiti on the framework

You non-lawyers can't have it both ways. If she was convicted, you'd say the system works. When it doesn't, it's the lawyer's fault.
It is completely broken... and it IS the fault of lawyers. There are too many of them for one thing.
You people regurgitate anti-lawyer venom whenever it's convenient.
not true... I do so whenever possible...
Let someone run your mother over driving drunk, or let your child consume something that makes them deathly ill, and the first thing you'll be doing is looking for a good lawyer.
..."good lawyer"... I believe, sir, that is an oxymoron!

People are just stupid for the most part, period.
How ironic...
Verdicts like this prove it.
Thanks to lawyers...

I don't agree with the outcome of this case, but she was tried and acquitted (even if it was wrongfully so). Could the system be improved? Yes. Could it be worse? Yes.

A trial by jury has its flaws and we saw that flaw yesterday. You can blame the lawyers, judges, their mommas, whoever, but the she went before her peers and they felt there wasn't enough evidence to convict her. It happens all the time.

I actually don't see this "hot" factor others do. The ghastly murderous look ain't my thing. They did mention a couple of hot actresses who might play her in a movie, Natalie Portman, Lindsey Lohan, Kirsten Stewart, Katy Perry, and Alyssa Milano. I'd hit them, but not Casey.

I find it amusing that in hindsight, she's 'ghastly murderous' looking.

I find it amusing that you assume I didn't find her ghastly and murderous looking in plain sight. This chick wasn't famous until she was accused of murder. At what point was she hot...I must've missed it.

Double jeopardy prevents a retrial. So, best people can hope for is that someone will entrap her for prosecution on another crime, like they did O.J.

They would have to prove some sort of tampering to have the trial over again. I just don't think that will happen. I do think there may some zealot out there who is plotting to murder Ms. Anthony at the first chance they get. If that were to happen, IMO, justice still wouldn't be served. I do, however, believe in Karma and I hope it comes back on her.

I have no idea how this jury let this woman walk free. Sure most of the evidence was circumstantial. The fact that she failed to report her child missing alone says she was not the least concerned.
A normal parent would be worried if there child was missing for five minutes let alone the couple days her child was missing without her reporting it to the local authorities. My goodness. What is this world coming to.
