That's what makes America so great, we don't tell people what they can't wear.. though sometimes I feel we should because of stupid things like pants hanging off your butts... not cool, not cool atall. (Really gonna have to talk my young black men about that, not cool, not cool atall)

You're having too much fun Langley...

If anarchism worked, it would have created a nation, just a nation, not even a great one. It does not work and it has created NOTHING. Interesting that the historical roots of anarchism are so close to those of totalitarian ideologies.

By the way, NOBODY forces anybody to live in a country like France. If anybody feels "oppressed", they can go to a country in which they share the cultural, religious, social, political and economic principles that allow or even compel them to wear a veil. And that will be fine with the French and myself too.

Democratic countries which preserve fundamental individual rights is the way to go. A veil is not considered a right in some countries. However, it is not only a right but an obligation in others. If somebody hates the lifestyle and values of the USA, France, Canada or any other country, please do not come and bitch about it. Just leave!

For your information, a veil is an OBLIGATION to all muslim women at ALL times., including when they drive and even more so in public, including photographs.

Let me show you how far it goes in some countries, which I have worked in:

Which is why I said "arbitrary." You're talking out of both sides of your mouth that the majority can dictate because they are the majority and yet you claim some sort of recognition of individuality. Where the line is drawn is arbitrary. Sorry, make that "subtle." But the end is no individual liberty is protected other then what the majority at any moment allow.

Just in case you need to know:

Stop building straw men and false arguments I did not make.

Let me give you an educational link which addresses the NEED to balance and complement majority rule with individual rights:

My points on burkas already showed I was clear what a burka is, you provided nothing that was counter to what I already said.

A free government that respects individual rights either for a Muslim dominated country or not would allow a woman to chose whether to be a Muslim and whether to wear a burka or not as long as it does not affect others. The separation is that for legitimate protection of the majority, the majority certainly have the right to demand she identify herself to fly or drive and not have her vision encumbered when she's driving, that sort of thing that actually affect the safety and security of the majority. In no free country does the majority impose it's will on the minority just because they want it and they can.

Edit: Which banning veils other then for protection of the majority is doing.

No kidding, this point isn't in contention and never has been.
