On ESPN they said the two big knocks on Helu are that he doesn't absorb contact well (goes down easy) and isn't a physical pass blocker.

Why? He's likely a special teamer and a backup. He's smart, but doesnt have starter speed. Genes aren't everything.

Not that I ever heard. I expected Clay to be good... don't see anything here but journeyman, at best.

College too I guess b/c at USC he was a backup player. Goes to show that they can't max talent or they had so much that they couldn't use it all at once.

That's more because he didn't really have a position in a 4-3. Too small for end and he's not a 4-3 backer. In his last season they finally started using him in a hybrid role and he excelled.

Helu per the radio:

Off the field - loves film work and loves working out
- Will compete to earn respect from older players in college
- Is a one cut guy. Doesn't like to dance.
- Didn't watch film on NFL players. Watched his Dad who was all-american rugby player.
- Did watch D. McFadden tape in college
- Said that he hasn't peaked yet in terms of potential.
- Knows about Terrain & Williams there already and willing to learn.
- Said he's coming in respecting the guys that are here at his position but going to come in and compete and do his best.

That one cut item fits great with Shanny's run game.

The Chiefs have another pick coming up soon. They were projected to take Phil Taylor NT. They haven't taken a NT yet. They might take Powe.
