Hmmm. I could see Mallet pulling a Ty Law and verbally "shooting" his way out of town in a couple of years. The Patriots haven't had quite as much of the magic touch with problem children in the last couple of years. I'm a little surprised that Belichick went with Mallet.

If we do we could get Luck. You know the Panthers are going to blow with Newton at QB

I guess I like the extra picks put passin on Mallert is a mistake IMO. Who is going to be the QB? Grossman?

Folks, it doesn't matter who the QB is next year.... This team wouldn't be a contender for the SB with Joe Montana taking the snaps.

I'd guess it'll be Grossman for 2011 and then look for the Skins to get a competent QB next year in the draft to study under Grossman for another year and then take over.

So expect 2 - 7-9 seasons in 2011 & 2012 then maybe something better after that.

No, I'm not Vinny, but I will say that I have a lot more philosophically in common with Vinny than I do with Bruce Allen and Mike Shannahan. I had hoped that the two of them would turn this team around in what I consider to be the right way. Apparently not. That will make it much more difficult for me to root for this team going forward.

Honestly, as I've said in the past, if we build this way, I hope we go 0-16 every year.

And you sir call yourself a Redskins fan? NEVER in my life have I ever wished the Skins to go 0-16. You sound plain ignorant saying comments like that. Root for your team no matter what happens. No matter what the obstacles are, no matter how bleak the future looks. THAT is what a TRUE fan does....All I know is every home game Ill be at Fedex yelling till my voice is gone because I love my team and always will.

1991 was 20 years ago. The handling of McNabb was classless, I am tired of waiting. I wanted Mallett gosh darn it. Who they going to draft, 18 7th rounders?

For me, fandom is a two-way street. An investment if you will. If I'm investing my time, energy, interest, etc... into the team, I expect something back in return. I haven't seen a positive return on my investment in two decades now. That doesn't mean I'm going to go and root for some other team, but it also means I'm not going to be sitting/standing there and cheering for a bunch of has-beens and never-will-be's either.

Scream yourself hoarse 8 times a year. Good for you. Wish you the best. I'll go to the bar each Sunday, watch until it's obvious they're done, then pay my tab and head home; whether that's at 12:00 of the first quarter or the end of the game (and it's been both at times over the years).

cleg, I'm just as tired of waiting as you are. I live in New England. What do you think my football seasons have been like every year for the last decade surrounded by the come-lately Patriots fans who were nowhere to be found even as recently as the turn of the century.

Mallett wasn't going to be a game changer for this team, this year. I get the feeling they're going to stock up on linemen and "character" players in the lower rounds here, build some depth and then HOPEFULLY look to make some moves in Free Agency (if it happens) to build a base for a run at the 2012-2013 season.
