Love that he went to Denver, John Fox who was at Carolina. Love that pick. He'll be appreciated and will start for them.

Unforgiven wrote:An easy way to look at this instead of thinking about all the trades is someone gave us a 3rd, 4th, and two 5ths to drop from #10 to #16. The guy we took at 16 is obviously someone we had a high value on and most experts said if we didn't take him at 16, he was gone to NE at 17.

Or barring any new trades we will add 13 new players picked by the staff to play in their system. That's 20% of the roster. We were one of the oldest teams in the league, we are getting young and fiscally cheaper.

If we have even half the success the Pats have had recently I will go make myself another cocktail and rejoice.

I'm thinking you may do the same if we don't as well. I'm just saying...

What they've done is sold their souls, played a style of football that is damn near unwatchable on a weekly basis, and generally allowed their opponents to beat themselves rather than going out and CRUSHING their foes. They're a team that plays to "not lose" rather than to WIN.

I'm sorry but I just cannot accept that as an appropriate or proper way to engage in any competitive activity. It's totally contrary to my beliefs on what sports are supposed to be about.

I have to admit that New England's play style isn't my favorite. Certainly different from what I grew up to love. However using NE's draft strategy is far different from adopting their play style.

Yes they did. They made the simple plays all game long and we didn't have the talent or the balls to stop them.

Now let's go back to 2003. The Patriots went 14-2. You know who one of the teams to beat them that year was..... the Washington Redskins: 20-17. You know why.... Because that Redskins team played a simple game that day and didn't make mistakes. The Patriots got behind and turned the ball over 4 times because they were not, and are not built to come back once they get down. It's the same way the Ravens and Jets have beaten them in the playoffs the last two years.

Im a long time reader/lurker of this site. Never really got into posting. Just really used this site for good information....Anyways Redskins_Fanatic, are you even a Redskins fan? Are you Vinny Cerato and are butthurt because you are watching the CORRECT way to build to a team? I mean jeez man you whine more then my 2 year old daughter.

On a lighter note... I cant say how happy and impressed I am with the approach the FO is taking this draft. Going after the right type of high-character, high-motor type guys who are willing to put it all on the line for the TEAM and not themselves. HAIL.

Makes sense. He's their kind of guy. Wanted him here but I can see it. We probably tried to move up to get him but NE was asking for a ton.

By the way, with their 1st pick, they didn't take him.

Welcome back to the site. It's always nice to have some level headed posters on here. Stick around a bit. You'll see, there are more logical guys than knuckleheads like some.

No, I'm not Vinny, but I will say that I have a lot more philosophically in common with Vinny than I do with Bruce Allen and Mike Shannahan. I had hoped that the two of them would turn this team around in what I consider to be the right way. Apparently not. That will make it much more difficult for me to root for this team going forward.

Honestly, as I've said in the past, if we build this way, I hope we go 0-16 every year.
