This is a FIRST ROUND PICK. Unless this guy can come in and be an IMMEDIATE IMPACT STARTER (from Day #1 of training camp) he shouldn't even have been a consideration.

No, it isn't. He lacks athleticism and racked up stats against garbage competition in the Big 10. To pass on Fairley to then take this kid is awful drafting. Nobody we take at 49 makes up for the disparity in talent between Fairley and Kerrigan.

How many of these top 15 players do you think are going to be starting from day #1???? Don't be an idiot.

He's the 16th pick... he will go to his share of pro bowls... and will multiply the talents of others around him... including the back end of the D.

I like the pick. The kid is no quitter and has good character. Great pick IMHO.

I think we needed that extra pick too much. We just have too many freaking holes to fill. But I agree with you that Fairley is going to be a beast. Especially now!

this is a great pick ,to win in the NFL you must rush the passer

No, but I wouldn't mind seeing this guy's plane crash on his first trip to the DC area.

You mean Bowers and Jordan I guess. I don't know. This not my first choice, but all I know about this guy is his scouting report. Amukamara there too. And o-line.

Just going to sit back and hope Mallett falls to us.

True. But this kid isn't going to be able to do it at the NFL level.

This kid doesn't even project as a 3-4 player. He projects as a 4-3 DE.

What a friggin JOKE. I thought Shanny and Co. should have been fired at the end of the season. Now I think so even more.

I meant Fairley. I would've taken him and not traded back.

Well I hope you turn out to be wrong. I know, Shanahan and Allen aren't known for drafting defense effectively.

Says who? The kid is a solid lunch pale player, does he have the super potential of the other guys? No but he is less likely to be a bust and he will be a good compliment to Orakpo

It will work. Throw the kid on the strong side because he is great against the run. Also he has a knack for getting after the QB.

Good pick overall. We traded down and still were able to fill a position of need. He will be good.

Since when have I given a rat's ass about what anyone else around here thought of my opinion or anything else.

I cannot and will not root for this guy. Except to see him sustain a career ending injury ASAP.

Karrigan was extremely productive in college. Big, fast, and max effort. Actually tied the NCAA all time record for forced fumbles so that is impressive.

You and I usually have different viewpoints, Tre, but this guys post(s) are...lets just say I am a little worried for him.

I can only trust Shanny and company just found another piece of the puzzle. One key factor is they said he is NOT been injury prone which is a good thing.

They didn't fill a position of NEED. They traded down and got a guy with ZERO durability, limited talent, who is best suited to play a position (4-3 DE) that our defense does not incorporate (we play a 3-4). There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING POSITIVE about this at all.
