Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

plus we're opening camp on 7/30 which gives us 8 days b4 the game while the Broncos open camp on the 27th so they'll have 3 more days to prepare. and w/ 5 preseason games and less emphasis put on actually winning those games, the first "scrimmage" game really means nothing more than to observe the 50th man on down to see who the few surprise guys will make it on special teams.

Which means 3 less days of wear and tear on our players. This is part of the reason we finished the season strong under Gibbs. He knows how to prepare a team to hold up for a 20 game season ( in case we don't win the division ).

We will be prepared to play for 90 minutes ( in case double-overtime is needed ). We will have excess players at the key positions ( in case of injury ). We will not see the same players making the same mistakes throughout the season ( because they won't be on the field if they can't get it right )....etc.

I'm not saying we will come out of the box playing like a typical Gibbs team...but come November-December we will be for sure. My 2 cents

Great point "HIB". Gibbs is one of the best "prepared coaches" in all of the NFL respectively. We will be ready for every fight no matter what the point spread or injuries. We will fail from time to time, but the key thing is that we WILL learn from our mistakes or the gatorade will always be close by. Gibbs can handle being outscored as long as we gave it 110%, but he doesn't handle being outplayed when it comes to X's and O's. Attention to detail is the key to our game and that my fellow diehards will only bring good things to come.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.

Welcome back Welch. I was wondering what happened to you.

WOW, I hadn't thought about this. The skins, in recent years, seemed to prepare for only 60 minutes, and wound up fading at approximately 55 mins, 59secs. I'm happy to think that are team will overprepare, no matter who we play.

On the contrary. We generally started fast and finished faster. The last two minutes of a Washington Redskin offensive posession in a game last season was generally the most exciting. There was no "last second" fade. Mainly, it was just before the half and just before the end of the game that you saw the best we could do under Spurrier.
Sadly, there was approximately 42 other minutes of regulation where we were just lost in space.

I stand corrected. Either way, we were severely underprepared.
