Of course, maybe he is talking about the $800 million he spent to buy the team in the first place.

I did find the "Hard Knocks" statement encouraging, of course Shanny probably told him to say that. Lol.

Takes a big man to publicly own up to a mistake. Hopefully this is a sign of a turning of the corner PERMANENTLY for us Redskins.

It must be nice to be able to make a $100 million mistake and, frankly, not be much worse off because of it.

Snyder had a much more candid interview with ComcastSportsnet's Kelli Johnson a couple years ago. He admitted to many other errors and had a few regrets about how things turned out; chief among them (no pun intended) was choosing Norv Turner over Charlie Casserly.

I know what kind of season we had, but I like where we're headed. I expect we'll be better next season (whenever that might be) as Shanahan and Haslett shape this team to the way they want it.

I'm not unhappy with how Allen has handled the contracts and suspect that the days of the $100-million-dollar man are over.

All Snyder needs to do is stay where he is and let his staff grow this team into something great. It seems he knows that.

I agree friend, I think if Danny stays the course and stay out of the affairs like he seemed to do this year we'll be in decent shape the next couple of years. Patience is a key that not everyone can turn, hopefully he knows how to handle the key now.

Is he being a big man though? He knows that 99% of skins fan hate him and what he has done to this franchise -- and I am sure that it is affecting his wallet. That is the real reason he is doing this. Over the past 2 years, people have been turning in their season tickets faster than any other two years in redskins history. He knows he has to come out with something to keep people's hopes up. He'll apologize if it makes him $20 million in ticket revenue.

Then when they asked him his biggest mistake -- he says Haynesworth. Really?? Really?? It wasn't hiring Zorn or the Ball Coach or maybe firing Schott. It couldn't have been dismantling a playoff team with Brad Johnson and implementing Jeff George as QB and signing tons of aging vets like Bruce or Neon Deon....

Then he says this is a "fan's team" -- sure Snyder --- these are same fans you sued a couple years back???

Then he asks for patience. How much do you want???? It's been a decade and a half -- you looking for a cool 25 years??? Real humbling Snyder -- yeah, I believe you...... --sshole.

I may not be as forgiving as most on this board, but I have heard a lot of talk in my day --- it's the doers and not the talkers that I trust. Thus far, the only thing Snyder has done is lose.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Somewhere, someone on this board quit buying jerseys and t-shirts--anything Redskins-- Maybe it worked. I was skeptical but perhaps shall prepare to eat some crow. Nice job to the poster who kept his money in his wallet.

I didn't think it was too bad (if taken with a grain of salt) until he said that all Snyder has done is lose.

Time to be unsure about that.

Look at that revenue chart at the bottom of the page. Increased every year since 2000; even in the face of the recent economic issues. Now it's possible it declined for the 2010 season, but I haven't heard anything to indicate that.

There is a level of hatred sure, but Danny wants to win. His means were misguided that much is obvious but Snyder is one of the most passionate Redskins fans no doubt. The light bulb has finally (god I hope so) gone off in his head that he can't play fantasy football anymore. The man shelled out tons of cash to try and make an all-star team. Football doesn't work like that. Lets just hope our fans can be patient with Allen and Shanny so we don't have this revolving door start swinging again.

First off, I know that 99% of all fans don't "hate" Snyder. So please, don't take that literally. It wasn't meant that way, but people on here tend to do that.

Don't want to get too technical here, but just because you are increasing your revenues doesn't mean you are making more money (and also, every single team I checked in the NFL had consistently increased their revenue on an annual basis since 2000 -- and the majority were higher on a % basis than the skins). With this valuation (and really any valuation) there is a TON TON TON of assumptions drawn. For overall value, it doesn't hurt that the skins stadium is valued close to 150M over the average -- which doesn't do much in terms of cash in hand; only sales price; and I doubt it is true (probably based on the land value assumption). And with revenues, I am sure that their revenues will increase next year. There is no doubt about that -- but so will their expenses. But I can bet that their expenses have increased to a greater degree than revenues.

I could go all day on this, but it would require too much research and time so I will have to only point out a couple things. One was the annual value change: the skins was relatively low. They have high operating revenues, but that is to be expected. Revenues increased consistently, but so did all teams in the NFL. The skins is high -- but that may be because they do not have any outstanding debt payments owed for stadium financing or constructions like almost 75-90% of the current NFL teams.

But regardless, these numbers are for 2009 and with this valuation, I wouldn't be surprised if they took their projecteds and threw together the numbers as if they were actuals.

Finally, did anyone receive an email today from the redskins about season tickets? Apparently I was magically taken off the season wait-list and now I am available to purchase season tickets with parking within the beltway!!! Great deals are still available!!!! I don't think this is a coincidence.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Not sure what your definition of "lose" is then??? In the past 11 years (only counting the time he served as active owner for the entire year):

SBs: 0
NFC Champs: 0
NFC East Champs: 0
Playoffs: 2
Playoff wins: 1
Record: 76-100
Winning %: 43%

If that is what you call "winning" then good for you....... I don't.

I (although it may have been someone else you were referring to) said they havne't spent a dollar on the skins. I haven't bought a skins item in well over 5 years. I must say, though that my sister bought me a skins t-shirt for christmas, so I can finally replace my 1999 NFC East Champions shirt.

I wasn't happy that she handed over money to our ego-driven, idiot owner, but it was a very nice gesture nonetheless.
