The real offensive
genius has returned
to Washington, D. C., and his arrival has the nation’s capital in an uproar. After 11 years of fiddling around with racecars, Joe Gibbs has reclaimed his rightful spot as Redskins ’ head man, which could result in some landslide victories.
But the biggest moves for the ’Skins came in free agency, with QB Mark Brunell, RB Clinton Portis, DT Cornelius Griffin and LB Marcus Washington all standing as upgrades over last year’s jobbers. And CB Shawn Springs is an adequate replacement for Champ Bailey, now with Denver. In fact, the Redskins look to me like the only NFC East team that has improved, personnel-wise.
I see Washington edging out Philly for the division title, possibly by tie-breaker.
