The Eagles Game

Post by Smithian »

Oh Gosh, I'm looking forward to this day...

Although I think that the Eagles will laugh as we hold on for dear life to their coat-tails as they 'skin(No pun intended.)us alive, I think Clinton "Fee, fi, fo, facker - I smell the blood of reserve linebackers!" Portis is going to have a good day.

Plus, Duece Staley is now a Steeler... HE'S GONE! HE'S OUTA HERE! Ding, dong, the witch is dead! Which old witch? The wicked witch! Ding, dong, the wicked witch is dead! AHAHAHAHA!

Also, Bobby "Hapless" Taylor plus Vincent are gone! Coles will be going crazy along with even Rod "Butterfingers" Gardner will have a good day verse those rookie starter CBs!

Ok, I was tired and bored when I did this. Mods please delete any of this that you deem unacceptable.

The Eagles are a different team this year, for sure...and they're banking on T-money and Kearse to make up for the players they lost.

They are still the team to beat in the NFC East, however. Can the Redskins beat them? Absolutely. Will they beat them? That remains to be seen.

Like I've said, coaching makes all of the difference in the world. This year, you will see a different Redskins team take the field. A team that will play with discipline, determination, and a new chemistry under Gibbs & Co.

Not only will this team be capable of beating the Eagles, the 2004 Redskins will be able to beat any given team on any given Sunday.

I am really excited about this.

T-money? Terrell "Mr. Congeniality" Owens? He scares me, but not way too much.

Even the best receivers can't catch balls thrown into the ground in front of them.

What troubles me is that our new coaching staff just brings us to par with the other teams in the division, except for NY. I think Coughlin is over-rated and they are just dismal.

Andy Reid and Bill Parcells are both roughly at Gibbs level. Sure, you can argue that Reid has never won a Super Bowl, but we're not talking about winning a Super Bowl, we're talking about winning the division.

I do think we have the talent to beat the Eagles (we're close to their overall level), but we'll need a year or year and a half to get Gibbs' system totally acclimateed.

By that time the Eagles will have lost Simon and Buckhalter!

The Eagles are going down. Don't you all remember McCants' touchdown catch last year against them. They had their starting Defensive Backs out and those scrubs in there and McCants just ran right by them and scored. That was a crucial touchdown with not much time left. If we can do that under the fun 'n' gun system. We will destroy them under Coach Gibbs system.

Here's my My 2 cents, ..... "SCREW the Eagles"!!!!
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.

I would love to go to Philthy to watch us pound them but I can't take my vest home with me and I like my car the way it is....Just knowing that the bridesmaids will never be a bride is almost satisfaction enough.

If we want to win the division we must beat the Eagles...they are still the class of the division. They didn't stand pat this off-season and added players to fill their voids in areas of weakness. They are well coached, but so are we now!!

I must disagree about TO and Kearse, making the eagles better, if i remeber right Coles numbers were better than TO's, so its Coles who should be feared, and Kearse has been a nonfactor for how many years?
I think they tried to do what we did the last few years, and guess what? IT doesnt work. I think the eagles will finish at least 3rd. Their lack of corners in this division will not get it done. I am basing all of this on Mcflabb starting slowly again, i just dont think they can recover again.

i respectfully disagree with everything you just wrote. you can't use coles as a comparison when talking about the buzzards being better. TO is better than thrash. the iggles had no secondary last year, and their D-line was banged up all year too, but they found a way to win.

There's nothing wrong with not being a complete homer all the time, you know. It's okay to admit when another team improves.

although influenced by satan himself on the topic, i wrote that on my own. i think the eagles are scary. they are not only the team to beat in the east, but the entire nfc, IMO.

This is not Spurrier we're talking about!! It's "counter gap left and right" until you can stop it. By then, they have already gone up top to coles for six. I see a quick study by this team. Show them the highlights of '91 season...friking magic!!!

Redskins | Arrington Says Eagles 'Team to Beat' - from www.KFFL.com
Mon, 5 Jul 2004 19:01:15 -0700

Washington Redskins LB LaVar Arrington recently told Rich Eisen of the NFL Network that the Philadelphia Eagles will be the team to beat in the NFC East this season. "[The Eagles] have to be just because they've proven every year consistently that they're the team to beat," Arrington said. "So until you come on the block and knock the bully off, they're the team to beat."

They both can't be wrong....but I hope so

Yeah the eagles. Lest we forget they pounded us last year in our house. It was unacceptable and emberassing.
We have the tools to beat them this year though; Gibbs will pound Portis at them and control the clock.
T.O. is a huge crybaby. Watch, if the team struggles early T.O. will b all about how donavan is'nt getting him the ball and how he needs to be more featured in the offense even while he is dropping balls all over the field like he did last year for the niners.
And...Kearse can't sack the qb if he's getting run blocked the whole freaking game.
It must be hard being an eagle fan though. All those years and no championships.

if you've been watching any nfl football other than the redskins you would realize that TO and Kearse will make a difference. how can an argueablly top 4 wr not help a team. kearse has been anything but a nonfactor his entire career. he has been healed up from his broken toe that sidelined him for most of the 02 season and even with a bothersome high ankle sprain(on the other leg) last year i think he still had 9-9.5 sacks. the guy is completely healthy and a force that the skins will have to reckon with. and by the way, when was the last time mcnabb lost to the redskins? i've seen him have some of his best games against the skins, so i would worry more about how he'll play against your team than others. all this being said....i respect the skins(especially now that they have gibbs back). i think that it will be a tight race for 2nd place between you guys and dallas.....

The Eagles are a good team. Now they finally have a reciever worth doubling, tripling up. That will make them better. Kearse is someone they needed once Hugh Douglas left, but their corners will have to prove themselves. I know they played last year alot, but you cannont replace the corners that you lost. It will be interesting to see how Jimmy Johnson will use those corners. I know last year McCants got em for a 40 yard touchdown. I also know that they weren't even half as physical as the corners you lost. In other words recievers don't have to be worried about getting slammed on their head (Gardener will be happy about that).
