I'll take 53 of those over 53 unproven rookies who you cannot even guarantee have the talent and ability to play in the NFL. I HATE rookies. Always have and always will.

Hall, Rogers, Bailey & Landry

Wow, if healthy, pretty serious unit.
I disagree about Rogers. He's a whiner and the fact that he can't catch is too big a liability for a CB. But other then that I'm with you.

I agree that we need to get younger but if we could bring him in at 32 years old, let him play FS - and sign one of our own (Rogers), we are good at DB for say, 3 years. We can try to find a young safety if we think Moore can't do it in a couple years.
This reclamation/rebuilding project is not a single year job as we have a lot of holes to fill...I'd fill this hole with a stop gap and deal with dline and linebackers in the draft.
Hey, Brian Dawkins is 5 years older than Champ and plays SS, a much more demanding position than FS.
I say no! Not only no but heck no. And I would say that even if he hadn't cut the nuts off of Gibbs and forced him to trade him for one of the worst trades in NFL history (value wise)
But my reservations come from having to listen to the media bash the team and say "same old Skins" always looking for a big named has been.
We need to go young and if a young guy isn't available, find an younger guy!
Look I know we will sign a bunch of FA this off season (even though I hope we don't) as long as none of them will be 30 before they have played for the team at least a year, I'm OK with it.
I want all first term FA, if we sign a FA. If they are close to 30, the salary will have to be low or laid out so we can cut them if the "get Old" all of a sudden!

Worst trades? Champ was going to leave we got ports who set the team franchise record for rushing yards in a season. .".....I hardly think that was a bad trade. Though I don't want rollins back.
How about Nnamdi Asomugha from Oakland? Looks like he will be a FA now. This would be my #1 target. Forget giving Rogers the big contract he wants, go get Asomugha even though he will cost more. He is the best corner in the league.
I agree with trying to get a lot younger group in here - the only other criteria is 'fit' - I could care less how "great" a player is for another team, it is not nearly as important as finding young guys that will make the other players already here better - this is a team game
we've had a lot of bad experiences here just bringing in players regardless of whether what they do will fit with what we already have
most all the NFL is full of very talented players - we need a younger group that have the desire to not only play hard but also to make the other players around them better
just recently here we saw what happens when younger less well "known" players get a chance and look at what a rookie RB did to the Eagles yesterday
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Had he stayed, I think it could have been very different. For the want of a nail, a shoe was lost... What Greg Williams could have done with him, AND with ST...
You are right and I agree with you ...
HOWEVER, I must be frank, if memory serves me well, his decision to leave was at the height of the WORST years and WORST behaviour of Daniel Snyder and Vinny Cerrato. I cannot blame him for wanting out of that mess.
Joe Gibbs had not been announced to come here when he made his decision over the previous regular season. He had seen enough. He knew what the "culture" was here at the time.
Not even the GREAT Joe Gibbs could overcome the tremendous handicap posed by a ridiculously incompetent Front Office.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
If we were to go out and get Champ, we would be doing the EXACT thing that has killed this team for the past decade and a half: going out and PAYING IN-THEIR-TWILIGHT VETS. Doing tihs adds no long term value to the team and hurts us in the long run.
I don't think that Bruce & Mike are going to just add players like Snyder & Cerrato did - these guys will add players that they think will make the other players better and they do have an idea of what they are doing
they'll probably mis-judge some but I have a lot more faith in these guys getting things back together here than the past FO
I'm pretty sure that we'll see a lot of younger guys get more consideration than older players but we have many holes and I'm sure every player that could possibly help will be looked at closely

Something to do with an affair with a Wash. Post employee and her having a kid for him, wife finding out... here's the link but it was all rumours so I'm not sure who knows the truth.

I disagree. Rogers and Hall are both vastly overrated. We have up 260 yards passing a game this season. I'd like to see us upgrade both cb spots, but that's not realistic. At the very least get rid of Rogers.

Rogers is fine, I do agree that Hall is overrated, though.

Our corners are not the problem. We need more beef at the Dline and some youth at linebacker not meant as a slight towards Fletcher. Just saying we need help in other areas cornerback is not a weakness in my opinion.
Furthermore if we use up resources to get Champ Bailey back then we have less to bargain with and still have holes on the Dline and linebacker.

No, no and No!
I agree. We may not have the greatest shutdown secondary in the history of the NFL, but they clearly right now aren't our weakness on D.
