Hognostication Playoffs 2010 - Wild Card Round

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Hognostication Playoffs 2010 - Wild Card Round

Post by Deadskins »

Here are the seedings for each conference.

HHC:
1. KazooSkinsFan Bye
2. RiC Bye
3. DesertSkin
4. Deadskins
5. TeeterSalad
6. Hoss

DHC:
1. Justice Hog Bye
2. Countertrey Bye
3. SAP_Pete
4. REDEEMEDSKIN
5. ChrisHanburger
6. SkinsJock

The matchups this first week are:

HHC:
6. Hoss
3. DesertSkin

5. TeeterSalad
4. Deadskins

DHC:
3. SAP_Pete
6. SkinsJock

4. REDEEMEDSKIN
5. ChrisHanburger

Visiting teams have to get their picks in first, and every player needs to give a total score for the weekend (that's all four games combined).
The tie-breaker rule is the closest to the actual point total. It does not matter if you go over or not (this isn't The Price Is Right).

Visiting picks are due by Thursday, 9:00 PM EST.

The games to be Hognosticated are:

Saturday, January 8
New Orleans at Seattle = New Orleans Saints
N.Y. Jets at Indianapolis = Indianapolis Colts

Sunday, January 9
Baltimore at Kansas City = Baltimore Ravens
Green Bay at Philadelphia = Green Bay Packers

tie-breaker = 156 total points
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

DesertSkin, I am going to wait as long as I can to make my picks. In an effort to be as fair as possible to you, since this thread didn't get added until Thursday morning, I will accept your picks any time up until I make my own.

Home teams need to make their picks up to an hour before kickoff of the first game of the weekend. No exceptions!

Baltimore at Kansas City: Baltimore
Green Bay at Philadelphia: Green Bay

Damn! For some reason I was thinking Desertskin was my opponent. I'll still accept your picks this week teeter, for the same reason, though. Next week, the deadlines will be strictly enforced.

I think the upset of the first round is going to be the Packers. I did well picking the Eagles all year, but it's going to be Packer weather and I think the Packers have been improving while the Eagles have been regressing a bit. Take it to the bank!

Talk about countin' your chickens before the hatch. If I'm wrong and the points are over, I'm gonna be pissed. I'm more confident in the over than the Colts, but this is about pickin games so I went with the pick over the points.

Soooooooo, who won and lost in all matches, and who is playing who next week?

I am ever so thankful that I did not play this round based on victories. I thought NO and Indy would win.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

I think that JSPB is 'recovering' somewhere

unofficially it looks to me like:

HHC =

Hoss @ KazooSkinsFan

TeeterSalad @ Redskin in Canada

DHC =

SkinsJock @ Justice Hog

REDEEMEDSKIN @ Countertrey

I did not see where SAP_Pete posted any picks giving me a well deserved victory

How great is it that the Saints and Eagles are at home next week where they belong :celebrate:

OK, I've rethought the whole deadline thing...

J/K Teeter, good game. It was over in the first quarter when the Saints and Seahawks put up 77 points. Other winners this weekend were SkinsJock, REDEEMEDSKIN, and Hoss. Congratulations.

The new seedings and matchups are in the Divisional round thread.
