If there's no 2011 season
Are contracts suspended b/c the actual year in football never happened or is that year on contracts waived or what?

Contracts function under the "accrued season" portion of the CBA. Players must meet the terms and conditions of an "accrued season" which they cannot do without a CBA in place. The contracts are not waived. It is akin to an NBA player who is under contract with an NBA franchise but leaves to play in Europe. The NBA (or NFL team in this case) still owns the player's rights through the length of the contract.
