Here is my metric. You can make 10 clones of a guy and then put that 11, playing both ways, against any other guy with his 10 clones.

Who is your guy?

I nominate Vick.

Other nominations followed by arguments and a poll?

Using this metric I think there may have been a time when Brian Mitchell was the best all-around football player in the NFL.

I'd like to hear from Welch (and others) on an all-timer using this metric.

Thorpe? Baugh? Jim Brown?

You probably need a TE, because you need blockers as well as skill positions. I nominate Cool

eys just run every down? I think the Vicks might run wild. You can't block what you can't get position on.

I think we could get something good going if more people join in.

My Webbs are also four inches taller so our height and leaping ability will make it hard for your Vick QB to throw over us. My Webbs are fast enough to keep your Vick QB in the pocket. By the fourth quarter your Vicks will be worn out from trying to tackle our 6' 4" frame and getting tackled by the same 6'4" frame.

Thanks. On first thought, I felt that your Vicks were unbeatable with their speed, agility and durability and skills, but then I remembered the Tuesday night game with Joe Webb and I said maybe the Webbs can beat the Vicks.

I think I'd actually take Tebow. He can pass and run, and I think he would def block better than Vick.

Yeah, whoever gets Tebow is a good choice. He has good size and probably can hit as well, if not better, than the average LB. He has good speed. Here are some combine stats:

Tim Tebow ran the 40-yard dash on Sunday in 4.7 and 4.72.The former Florida star also tied the mark for best ever vertical leap by a quaterback with a jump of 38.5 inches. He tied Josh McCown.

Not bad numbers but he and his 10 clones would have a tough time beating my Joe Webbs. Tebow's speed is pedestrian compared to Webb's 4.43. Webb can easily out leap Tebow 42.5 to 38.5. A slight edge would go to Tebow with the line play, but speed kills. The game would be a tough game but would be a victory for the Webbs so long as the Webb's do not make too many mistakes. The Tebows would be highly disciplined and would play virtually mistake free football. The Webbs would not want to see the Tebows on the schedule too often.

I've been thinking about this for a while and still like the Vicks over the Webbs until the Webbs gain more experience. I think the Vicks win now but the Webbs have more upside. In a 16-game season I like the Vicks to open 5-3 or 6-2 with the Webbs maybe taking more games after the bye if they develop consistency.

The Tebows are interesting. I like the Fletchers but they realistically have no chance.

I think the McNabbs would have been very tough a few years ago.

True, there are some unknowns about Joe Webb. If the data were to be put in the computer right now, Vicks would probably have the edge because the Webbs haven't built a resume yet.

Reading this thread all I could think was how the most unstoppable "clone" team of all time would've been the Sean Taylors. The defense would've been devastating against both the pass and the run. The offense would be explosive. They'd be able to pound the football and the passing game would rack up a ton of YAC.

Thanks! Hands down he's the best all around athlete I've seen in my lifetime. Size, speed ability and heart. They broke the mold when they made him.

As for current players I think the Webbs sound like a top contender along with the Tebows and Vicks.

How about a team of Troy Polamalus or go for a bigger team ala the Brian Urlachers or Ray Lewis'. They may not be that good defending the pass (or throwing the football) but they'd be hard to block and tough to tackle. They'd wear alot of smaller faster teams out.

That is if they can contain those teams early and not fall way behind in a shootout.

Read the first post in the thread. That's where the metric is. Maybe you already did. Webb was nominated last year (Red_One43). He was drafted as a WR and has had strong performances as a QB. 11 of him would be tough to stop.
