Nope. There's only one. I don't change allegiances. If I stop rooting for this team, I don't watch the NFL at all. Hell, I don't watch the other teams now, why the heck would I start if I wasn't a Redskins fan anymore.

I walked away from MLB entirely in 2004 when I stopped rooting for the Red Sox. Haven't watched a game since.

So you mean there actually is hope? What would it take?

You realize Danny Boy is going to own the team for the next 40 years. By then he'll have an even more incompetent son he has with a bimbo he hasn't met yet and will barely know to leave it to. He's going to hire nothing but ego maniacs like Marty and Mickey or unqualified doormats like the Ole Ball Coach and Zorn and I'm sure he's working on a GM worse then Vinny. Allen just may be that guy.

As for the team, it's completely hopeless. We are getting rid of our only QB with talent and replacing him with an endless string of 5th round draft picks because we've traded or will trade the rest of them for guys over 35. We're going to get rid of all our 4-3 D players before we realize the 3-4 is a fad bust and then we're going to just start over again coming back.

I really wouldn't blame you if you just hung it up and walked away like you did with Baseball. It'd really be a shame, but if you feel it's what you have to do, I understand.

Don't count on it. We've lost something like 8 or 9 straight to the midgets. Next week will be no different.

Who knows, maybe we'll get to find out together.

Actually Danny Boy has been one of the few things keeping me interested in this team for the last decade or so. It's his stepping away from running the team that is more likely to get me to walk away than his continued fingerprints. I actually LIKED Steve Spurrier. He couldn't get the job done at the NFL level, but I liked his style.

We don't have any QB's with talent at the moment. McEagle never should have been brought in to begin with. Grossman is a reasonable SHORT-TERM bandaid but nothing more. If it's the right guys on the far side of 35, I've got no problem with trading the picks. I HATE THE DRAFT. Going back to the 4-3 would probably piss me off though.

It took one of the biggest disappointments in my life (being down 0-3 to the NYY in the ALCS) to get me to walk away from the Red Sox permanently. Even after the Buckner fiasco. It's gonna take something major with the 'Skins as well.

I see the word "STAFF" in your avatar. I'm sure that you could make it happen if necessary. This would neither be the first, nor I'm sure the last place online that I've worn out a welcome.

Any thoughts on the actual game? Players that did well? BB AAA the Train? Sexy Rexy? D? Any BAck ups to watch? Who had the Ints?

Or is this another emo I hate myself thread for RF? Hide all the sharp objects!

Nah. That's for amateurs. Any of the three firearms within my arms reach would be much more efficient if that was what I had in mind

Not that I have any interest or intent on doing any such thing, mind you.

Moss had a good game today. Continues to play very good vs zone defense

Rex had a Rexy game. Not too impressive but just enough.

Defense played lights out but the biggest disclosure is that MJD wasn't in the game today and IMO would have been a difference maker like he's been all year.

ST's did a good job making plays. Think we only had one block in the back today so that's good.

On a draft note we're looking at the #14 pick from #8 after the win today. Plenty of time to get back closer to the top :)

Who was shining on D? Any backups to watch? Who had the picks?

OOooooohhhh !!! ... the good old days ... (sighs) ....

I refuse to engage on a discussion about a drama queen.

Back on topic ... good game BUT this game was won paradoxically by defense and special teams for the most part.

An interception by "hands of stone" Rogers???

We also must thank the whole bunch of olympic Gods for not allowing Maurice Jones to run against us and keep him on the sidelines. [-o<

Yes, I have a funny but unrelated story about that. At Michigan (MBA program) I knew a girl who is French. She speaks fluent Czech and was at a dinner. The waiter asked if he could take her plate and she said in perfect Czech, not yet, I'm not finished. Perfect except for those darn little connotations. Everyone was staring at her. Using the right words with that darn little connotation issue, she'd told the waiter not to take her plate, she hadn't finished her orgasm yet. Oops.

Similarly, my sister speaks fluent Spanish and she lived and worked in Costa Rica several years. On a vacation to Nicaragua she asked for a wash cloth. The clerk laughed and asked what she wanted it for. She said to wash her face. He laughed more. It turned out the word for "wash cloth" in Costa Rica was "diaper" in Nicaragua. Oops.

Culture can be funny too. I visited a friend from my Michigan class who was living in Spain. He is American, but his mother is Mexican and he speaks fluent Spanish. Anyway, my wife and both daughters are the type who want this on the side and that left off and they all want everything different. Unfortunately in Spain you don't customize. My friend was explaining to the waiter what they wanted and the waiter was looking at him like he'd lost his freaking mind. He wasn't angry, he was just in disbelief, it's not done. Fortunately they do know Americans though. My friend explained it was for his "American friends." The waiter laughed a "those crazy Americans" laugh and gave them everything they wanted. Our reputation precedes us.

What were we talking about again? This is why I can't keep grudges, I can't remember who I'm mad at or why...

Great game by the Skins. They showed a lot of heart to stick with it, and the defense bailed us out at the end. I think we have begun to turn things around . . .

Well, CT happens to have more honorable decency than you seem to imagine. Check the general rules, and you will see nothing that says "must always be optimistic". I have met the staff and families, and can't think of a more level-headed and understanding collection of Redskin fans -- all different ages, personalities.

People have been banned, but the rules explain why.

My only concern is that if we go 1-2 (or 2-1) in the last three games of the year and look relatively competitive doing so, that the coaching staff and GM are not going to make sufficient moves in the offseason to ensure that this team is significantly more talented next year than it is right now.

I'm pretty sure you're right about that; which will just make it all that much more difficult to continue rooting for this bunch of losers.

You do realize there are 31 other teams out there you could root for right?

Why do we even give RF a second thought? He's a semi-troll trying to create controversy and seek attention.

BTW, RF....I thought you were GONE, done, outta here? Perhaps you'll truly be gone when McNugget is gone.

I see this forum never changes. According to many on this site, if you ever have anything negative to say about the Redskins, you're not a true Redskins fan and you should just go away. I say if you have negative things to say about the Redskins it shows you're a realist, you care enough about your team that you're sick of the losing and you want them to get better, and you can see. The endless candy-coating is pointless....
