Postgame Thread - WE WIN!!!!

Post by frankcal20 »

Regardless of what your opinion is (ex)

1. Lose games to get a better draft pick
2. Regardless of the outcome, let's hope that we find some players on this team.

You've got to be happy with todays performance today by the defense. We are so banged up and guys came to play. Haslett either called a great game or dudes just excelled. I'm happy either way.

I can't wait until next week. If the Giant's playoff hopes rest on that game, it would be so sweet to knock them out.

Yes, it's great to get the win. Winning is always better than losing.

My only concern is that if we go 1-2 (or 2-1) in the last three games of the year and look relatively competitive doing so, that the coaching staff and GM are not going to make sufficient moves in the offseason to ensure that this team is significantly more talented next year than it is right now.

Yea we going to be active but man didnt we find some players these past few weeks. Rob Jackson was getting double teamed in the last part of the game. He probaly can be our starter next so we can go for something else in FA and the draft.

Yes, but are we going to be active in the RIGHT WAYS. That's what my concern is. Somehow I can see Shanahan and Allen being "active" in ways that I will disagree with about as completely as possible,

That would depend on what you want to see for the team. Allen & Shanny want a 3-4 defense and a "westcoast offense" (I hate that term) if you want a 4-3 and some other offenseive scheme yes you will be in disagreement with their moves. I believe these two fellows will make better moves this offseason.

I'm totally in favor of the 3-4 Defense. It's ALWAYS been my preference over the 4-3. As for the "West Coast Offense", the jury is still out on that one for me.

My bigger concern is the type and quality of player they're bringing in to run those systems. Are they bringing in High Quality guys who still have something in the tank, or are they bringing in a bunch of has-beens and never-will-be's to just get by? THAT'S the bigger question in my mind.

No now, matter what happens now, we finish ahead of the Cowboys. That alone makes the season.

Yes, clearly that's why Shanahan won't play anyone but starters, he's not interested in evaluating anyone or making changes. Very insightful...not

My concern is that he's going to get the idea that 2 or 3 decent performances by these second and third-tier players somehow means that they would be suitable 16 game starters next year. I don't believe that's so in most cases. THAT is what worries me.

I'm pretty sure you're right about that; which will just make it all that much more difficult to continue rooting for this bunch of losers.

Based on what when all indications are he's going to make another round of massive changes?

My point is you're going to disagree with what they do no matter what they do. As now even though we clearly did improve over last year. So you just "fear" they are stupid when the facts point to that they are not...

Based on......

The quality (or lack thereof) of the players that we acquired in the offseason last year,

The fact that we will now not have a Top 10 draft pick (which thankfully excuses me from having to pay any attention to the draft),

and

The potential for a more restrictive salary cap under a new CBA,

among other things.

Not necessarily, but there is a very high likelihood that they will not do (or more likely will not be able to do) what I think they should in the offseason, and that I will upset with whatever they do.

We have made very, very marginal improvements over last season. This year's team is still rated as an "F" in my book and will be no matter what happens next weekend.

What you consider "stupid" for the front office to do and what I consider "stupid" for the front office to do are probably about as opposite as East and West, Kazoo.

the Giants are getting killed by Green Bay - I'd love to beat them and fall even further down the draft boards
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

You do realize there are 31 other teams out there you could root for right?

We want the Giants!!!!! We want the Giants!!!!!

Revenge is better served up cold at Fedex Field and by 4th string players.

If the Skins do beat the Giants they will be .500 against the NFC East.

Nope. There's only one. I don't change allegiances. If I stop rooting for this team, I don't watch the NFL at all. Hell, I don't watch the other teams now, why the heck would I start if I wasn't a Redskins fan anymore.

I walked away from MLB entirely in 2004 when I stopped rooting for the Red Sox. Haven't watched a game since.
