I have serious doubts about this coach and staff. I might take Gruden or Cowher and McNabb over the Shanahans at this point
This is an extremely stupid move. If you are done with McNabb, show him the professional courtesy of finishing the season and cut him lose afterwards. This is a bush league move, one of at least a few, this coach has made.
Consider me not impressed with Shanahan at all
From that post, I don't think you have a clue as to what is happening here

I'm fine with these 2 guys and am still happy that Allen and Shanahan are running things - nobody can convince me that Cowher or Gruden might have done better and who knows those 2 might have been working with Snyder/Cerrato - how do you know what the FO make up might have been if Shanahan hadn't insisted on having Allen here before he would consider being a coach here

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I do know one thing if year 2 of the Shanny reign is a circus like year 1 I don't see him back for year 3. Good luck with Grossman or whoever the hell is going to be our quaterback. Which reminds me, how long has it been since the Skins had a "franchise" quarterback? 20 years?
What??? Are you forgetting Gibbs franchise quarterback Mark Brunnel? The guy that threw what? 22 passes in a row, the longest one was 5 yards.
haha....well Brunell was alright I guess considering what we have had after him but I guess I would answer that at least there were passes completed for 5 yards and at least gave us some kind of chance.

I'm so sick of having to hear my team ripped by a$$holes who know as much about football as my 22 month old daughter (actually she knows to put her hands up when the redskins score a touchdown already, so they know less than her). I'm sick of not being able to brag about my team, who is never able to brag about their team. Its been 20 years. 20 years! I'm sick of having to develop some nuanced argument as to why being a ravens fan is silly when I'm a skins fan, through and through. It's just downright demoralizing. Sure other teams are worse, but are any others this consistently stupid?
Sorry for the upbeat attitude but this crap today (as opposed to the AH move earlier this week that made me happy as could be) is just more silliness.

Hail, I guess.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Honestly, I don't know if I can do this anymore. I have to think hard about this franchise and whether or not I need to be spending money on Direct TV and coming to a game or two a year. Shanny is a rat like everyone said. This is just as bad as when Zorn was here. Awful, awful, awful.
Don't give up on Direct TV Cleg. You are a die hard so we have to wait until the right mix of players, coaches etc.....are here. It is bound to happen even if it is because of stupid luck.

Oh man, this offer is beginning to look tempting.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Totally agree on both points here. I'm not sure how anyone could support Shanahan on this move or the way he has handled the team this year. He's been a joke. I thought his assertiveness at first would be a good thing but he has been way too wrong on too many things. Pathetic. Maybe Mr. Snyder is cursed. I think he tried to do the right thing--still got a lemon. Gimme Chucky and some advil.

I would love to have Gruden, but if not, then lets give Shan a chance, because even Marty came in as a General. Marty might not have ever won the big one, but he does build teams. So, going by that...Unless Shan really damages we just have to ride this out. Shan might just be the answer. I hope so. I doubt it. I do hope so though.

That sounds like it means something. But are you saying when we haven't solved the problem by changing things, so maybe changing is the issue and we should stop at some point with a solution that doesn't work? Makes no sense to me. I prefer to keep working on a solution.

Seems like it was pretty much business as usual this year. Hopefully we can do a better job next year.

We've seen the last of McNugget in B&G.
McNabb never has been an accurate passer. So knowing that, why would they trade for him?

I'm sorry but any coach or player for that matter who treats a regular season game against the Cowgirls (mathematically eliminated from the playoffs or not) as anything less than a must-win, does not understand anything about this franchise or it's fans.
I'm usually an optimistic apologist but I am with D. Hall on this one: "We can go 2 and 14 as long as those two wins are against the Cowboys."
The DVR is set just in case my team plays football today but otherwise I am taking my son to a Philly backer bar to watch his Eagles hopefully play some NFC Beast ball. (I'll be wearing B&G because unlike some posters on here, changing my team isn't an option... Unfortunate as that feels right now.)

Turns out Shanny wasn't "any coach." Turns out he knew who to play to give us the best chance to win. Of course, he should know. He's the coach.

How can you actually say Sexy Rexy gave us the best chance to win? Donovan has the best record against the Cowboys out of all the teams he's played. It's good to try to be positive, but it's not like we're pulling Tebow for Peyton...

Good for Mike Shanahan and Kyle Shanahan(who brings his own credentials) for doing what needed to be done. If McNabb had played that well in any of the last six games(1-5) it may not have come to this.
This is McNabb's fault for not improving during the season. At least someone has the cahones to treat a failing QB with honesty and PuT ThE TeAm FiRsT!
This should have happened to Mark Brunell, who also had stretches of 1-5
Past coaches should have done this with Portis, look at the run game with similar O-linemen and hungry players now
Shame on all the media and brainless fans that actually spoke and believed the season was being tanked. Being a real man means being the bad guy when difficult situations require it. It's someone else's time here, Donovan
Fans want to hang on to stars and jerseys, Shanahan wants the best talent to play period.
I stand and applaud what coach is doing effusively and I refuse to by into the hype
The media has always hated us, we can fight back now by winning

What has been lost is that Donovan hasn't been thrown under the bus, technically this is an evaluation period and he's still captain and Mike hasn't ruled out anything for him possibly starting next year. That shows alot of class in a difficult situation in which Mike could have pointed to the terrible accuracy and immobility of late.
