The QB Search Starts... NOW!
Well, McNabb is out. He's benched for Sunday's game and there's just no conceivable way he comes back.
He'll be gone after the season and his value is low. Where will we find a quarterback? Mike Shanahan appears to like mobile signal callers like the Eagles version of McNabb, John Elway, Jake Plummer... but he also drafted Brian Griese who was a statue. Here's next season's possible free agents:
Matt Moore
Alex Smith
Brodie Croyle
Tavaris Jackson
Shaun Hill
Troy Smith
Pretty weak crop of guys there. The Skins might try and get one of the former top picks Vince Young, Matt Leinart or Brady Quinn. Maybe he'll look for a veteran for a reclamation project. Maybe Carson Palmer or Matt Hasselbeck. What I hope it doesn't mean is more wasted draft picks on trades. We're going to have a top pick, one that we desperately need... maybe we'll use it on a future franchise guy like Jake Locker, just don't trade it for nothing please!
Also, for all the Jay Cutler talk that's bound to happen... NO! He's playing well in Chicago and is entrenched at the starter he will not be moved. [/i]

Im thinking they trade for/sign V Young if he gets released, or they look QB in round 1 and let Grossman start next yr.
Im not a fan of Young's, but he should be available, somewhat young, has had past success and has upside, and the biggest other reason....... who else would we get?
Maybe a Hanesworth for Young/ 4th rounder? Would you do that trade?

Mike/Bruce - If your going to spring big this year in Free Agency, please spring big on offensive lineman! I cant watch Rabach anymore!

I'd take on Vince Young and give him a second chance. I just don't know if Shanny is gonna be patient enough to develop him, it seems like VY needs to be handled with kid gloves. Also, I liked Tampa Bay second stringer Josh Johnson out of college but it seems like there's a lot of developing to do. Maybe he's an option. Seems like the Shanahans are going to have to get a QB and spend a LOT of the off-season training them.

Our QB is going to either be McNabb or Grossman next year. Either
- Kyle is right and Grossman is the one and we're going to have Grossman next year
- Kyle is wrong, learns that and he's going to make friends with McNabb a and make him happy and we get McNabb
- Kyle is wrong, doesn't realize it and we're going to have Grossman suck for us next year
It is not going to be someone else. At least next year.

I thought I heard this somewhere, too. This would be nice. Is V. Jackson a free agent next year?
I must have missed that... VJ will be a FA next year

Part of my reason for returning to THN is this;
I am starting the Ryan Mallett to Washington camapign! Passing QB, pro style offense, is a great bootleg QB(huge part of the Razorback offense), and has consistently improved his passing accuracy.
Say no to Cam! Spread QBs are not meant for the NFL. Look at Alex Smith.

Nothing personal, but who cares?

Ok, so I did a little looking into Mallet, you are correct. If we can't get Luck i'm with you on Mallet. No Cam!

That wasn't tasty it was stale... everyone with any insight has known for a month that it wasn't a $40 million contract. Bad info in the 1st sentence does not make a tasty morsel, it makes you move on to something else

Redskins players are not happy. "The guys are extremely pissed," one player told NFL.com's Jason La Canfora. He reports that Redskins players think offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is using McNabb as a scapegoat for his own failures
ok, now I am putting it in better light I hope. This is what I was talking about.

The issue is the source. LaCanfora would spin anything about the Redskins in the worst possible light, whether or not the story needs his help. While it may be entirely accurate JLC has a nasty habit of sensationalism when it comes to all things Washington Redskins.

I get you. Written by Chris Chase though. It still might all be Jason La Canfora fault somehow but I read this and was thinking it isn't all peaches and cream. More to the problems than meets the eye.

Another words... Acording to Mike - I had a talk with Don and he understands...I want to know what Rex can do and so on and so on.....Smoke and mirrors. More lies. It is ok though because either he is on the right track or this will set things up for Gruden who I believe can get the job done and can pump this team up. I really don't want to see a HC change but I certainly would except Gruden over him any day.
