I understand the officials cant see everything, but Orakpo gets "HELD" everytime he comes off the edge!! It's literally a dark alley act. That being said I think the past 3 years has been the worst officiating I've ever seen in the NFL and NCAA Basketball (GO WILDCATS).

The problem with officiating in all sports is that it's always old men. It takes so long to become an official in any major sport it's mostly all old guys who's vision and reaction times are suspect.

They can't even get the calls right when they watch the replays. In the Dallas Philly game last night a pass was ruled complete for Dallas, and in the replay you could clearly see the ball hit the ground during the catch and the ball moving around meaning the receiver didn't have control of it when it hit the ground. The officials still ruled it a catch. I agree, the officiating is getting worse.

That was pathetic. The replays were so completely clear the ball was on the ground. Unfortunately it's not unusual at all they can't get calls right which are very clear on the replay.

I like Shannahan's view of just saying publicly he's not arguing it because it just comes across as whining. We clearly had plenty of chances to win the game, better to focus on what is in your control then complain about what isn't. But the Skins definitely consistently get the short end of officiating. And I'm not one to normally say that, I usually think things balance out. But it's just obvious at this point the NFL is OK with refs not liking us for whatever reason because they're not grading them so they care.

I highly doubt that the Refs have any sort of agenda against us or for that matter dont like us so they dont give us the calls we deserve.. sometimes the calls dont go your way in sports ... its happens with every team and I imagine if you went around the league every fan would say there team doesnt get the calls they should.

And yet I don't do that, I'm a pretty strong believer that things even out. but that assumes there is not bias. We do not get the calls consistently, even replayed ones. The trend is just too clear

so you actually believe the Refs have it out for the Redskins? you think that each week they sit there and say lets make sure the Redskins dont get the calls they should.. we are a 5-8 team and even if we had the Refs in our pocket we would be a 5-8 team

I said "bias." You said "have it out for." They don't mean the same thing

We did not lose a game in ONE play. We lost the game on a SERIES of plays.

We could have won COMFORTABLY !!! We missed too many opportunities and did not fully capitalise on others. Two FGs missed. FG attempts instead of 7 points???

Hey, even this LOUSY truly "offensive" line was opening big gaps for Torain's +170 yards rushing ??? !!! And we still lose???

And this play should embarrass the hell out of the whole lot of refs out there.

We beat ourselves with some assistance from the officials. The Bucs were no match for us. I better stop before I end up putting in some words more deserving of the SMACK forum.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that, and yes it does appear that the officiating is getting worse and worse. There definitely is a bias with certain teams/players in this league. Collinsworth brought up a great point about that last night. Vick got drilled running out of bounds. It was a close call, but it should have been flagged. Collinsworth basically said that if it were Peyton or Brady that got hit like that, you bet your arse it would have been flagged. Also, my good friend is a Raider fan, so I tend to watch a lot of Raider games when I'm over his house as they usually play at 4, and we usually play at 1. For a few years I thought he was just whining as the Raiders have been a bad team for a while now, but I must admit it does seem like they get hosed on a weekly basis with the refs.

Officiating in the NFL is a total joke. Goodell is so worried about making money that he ignores the biggest problem his league has. This was a crime. His refs are all over paid and they have job security. These refs should know that if they miss these key, blatant calls they could be fired. And most of the time its the same refs missing key calls over and over again. Get rid of them, it hurts the integrity of the game.

And what is even more irritating is that coaches and players can't come out and say what a joke the NFL refs are or they get a big fine from Goodell for speaking up about a problem.

I think that whether we win or not or won or not, Shanny should file an official complaint about officials not protecting Orakpo from holding. It's Orakpo's neck that must be saved. Since when is it whinning when a player's health and career is at stake. If this continues to go on, Rak may suffer serious damage. The player who grabbed Rak by the neck last game should not only have been flagged, but also thrown out of the game and fined.
