This decision DEFINES that Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen run the football operations and Daniel Snyder is following their advice !!!
It is FANTASTIC that an EGOMANIAC who feels that he is ahead of the team does not get paid if he does not abide by the terms of his contract !!!
It is a GREAT decision but it is also a very TIMELY decision !!!
This is a TURNING POINT in policy and modus operandi for the Redskins in OVER A DECADE !!!
This is how you BUILD a TEAM.
In an ideal world, Fat Al would have had the professionalism to abide by the terms of his contract. He would have placed TEAM ahead of himself. It was too much to ask. The guy has the maturity of a junior high school slighted cheerleader.
I am back on the bandwagon. Mike Shanahan, I am back on your side and I BELIEVE that you and Bruce will turn it around. I am not in a hurry. I will be here supporting you all the way.
This is a DEFINING moment for this team and its fans. I am happy to side with my commanding officer and my band of brothers who will fight for the team as much as I will.

I'm completely with you. And as for discipline, I was in favor of the Marty Shottenheimer firing because I thought he was a horses rear. But Shannahan's just a different story. He respects his players, and he demands they respect him. AH has declined that deal, not Shannahan. Shannahan has been taking far more then he would from any player. All this it's a clash of egos is BS. AH has passed on every out and insisted that Shannahan just cave. Enough's enough.
I'm more optimistic then at any time since Danny took over other then the Gibbs 2.0 experience.

I am a bottom line guy. I want to see wins before I get on the bandwagon. MS/BA have already given up 2 draft picks in this upcoming draft -- something I am not happy about.
The fact that MS basically kicked the most talented (albeit a lockeroom cancer) off the team doesn't make me 100% for them. They need to show me a little more than that before I start kissing their behinds and calling them saviors.
They took a step in the right direction, but a HC and GMs legacies are defined by WINS. I want a consistent winner before I can call them a success.

I don't think anyone is putting either of these guys in the Redskins Hall of Fame for one decision, mark. I agree that this team needs to start winning games. Trust me I'm with you on that. HOWEVER, to get those wins they need to build an attitude that crap like what AH has pulled for the last 10 months is not acceptable. This was the first step down a very long road, but at least it's a step in the right direction; something we haven't seen much of from past management and coaches.
I'm not a real huge fan of the draft as a means to build a team. I'm also not a huge fan of rookies. Something tells me I'm going to have to get over those prejudices in order to stay on this bandwagon.

On Shannahan, that's just word gamesmanship and I see no evidence other then AH anyone fails to respect him and I see no evidence AH respects anyone. But as for Marty, the most grizzled veterans said he wouldn't explain what he wanted, he just said what to do. Darryl Green said he treated him like a rookie. That's not "earning" respect.

Nobody said that the ride would be fun and painless, quite the opposite. There are too many holes. But at least we know that they will not be filled in with overpaid, selfish, immature and unprofessional grease balls.

I haven't seen anything positive. Spent a lot of money on a failed 3-4 defense, trading draft picks away, ignoring glaring offensive needs. Why bandwagon yet? Because he suspended someone he should have cut or put up with? And what about that whole grossman debacle? Other than Armstrong and Banks there hasn't been a lot to praise.

At least both MS/BA have had an up close and personal view on what this team needs to build a successful franchise. This season without a doubt has been a learning experience, just hope they make the best of it in offseason decisions.

Anyway, I'm in. I have been in the whole time because I asked for change last year. I asked for a disciplinarian and a coach who has done it before. I asked for a front office that would start bringing some order to this franchise. I asked for a front office that would bring the alumni back and start remembering our roots. I've asked for Snyder to sit back and not have any input into the dealing with this club.
This is further proof that my wish has been granted. It feels like a big tumor was just removed. Now let's get some players in next year while there should be massive amounts of free agents. It's time to saddle up. Hail

The the hell...Im in too. I keep telling ppl how bad this team was when MS inherited it, Joe Jackson Gibbs 1st year was terrible too with the team he inherited. Lets see what happens this offseason. Maybe we go out and get a stud O LINE which instantly improves ALL facets of the offense. Maybe we strike it rich with some defensive players in the draft. I honestly believe we are an O Line away on offense (some WRs wouldnt hurt either) and are a D LINE/OLB away on defense. If we can fix those in the offseason, then we will see.
As far as the bandwagon, it is nice to have a FO that wont put up with this crap. Haynesworth is a punk, and if I ever saw him in person I would punch him as hard as I could in the jugular..........then run as fast as I could banking he would be winded after 10 steps
Mike/Bruce - If your going to spring big this year in Free Agency, please spring big on offensive lineman! I cant watch Rabach anymore!
