I wish. Instead, I have to take the wife to see the new Harry Potter movie.
Don't feel too bad, I had to take my g/f's younger cuzins to see the B2K movie. It just felt sooo wrong

Can you believe I almost got into a fight with these two teenage boys because they tried to sneak and take two of our seats? 1st I was shocked to see two guys together to see a B2K movie. 2nd of all they tried to take the two little girls seats. That day, with 100's of screaming teenage girls, was my worst movie experience ever.

Dude, that's too funny. I feel your pain.

What made it even worse was that the group of girls to our left talked on their cell phones for the duration of the movie.
There was another unfortunate male soul in the theatre. He must have been looking in amazement at all the teenage girls in there. I was 19 at the time, but I knew better and I kept my eyes on the floor. All of a sudden I hear some girl yell out, "what b****?, thats why your man looking back here at me". I was totally down for some fighting that night, anything would have been better than watching the dreadful movie.

Is it worth a purchase, or a rental?
Im going to take the girlfriend to see it this weekend. I can't wait!
Put it like this , you would be renting it a bunch of times. Its a cross between the first spiderman and grand theft auto.
The city is huge and you can go all over NY u can do all types of stuff, u are not confined to the storyline

so i saw S2 last night, and i have to say, it's great.
the action sequences are outstanding and nail-biting, without going over the top cheesy. the dialogue and character interaction is a bit cheesy, but hey, it's a comic book, it's supposed to have a bit of cheese in the ingredients.
the cgi, i thought, was tremendous. i mean, half the scenes in the movie have either a guy who has four slithering mechanical arms, or a guy who travels by shooting webs out of his wrists. so there was a ton of cgi work in the movie, and they did a great job making it believable.
the story and plot, i thought, was great. a large part of the attraction to the spiderman comic is peter parker's fallibility, his real world troubles. the movie did a good job of making parker a real person with real problems, some caused by his alter ego, and some not. i got a very good feeling for the internal struggles that parker was going through, and the movie stayed very true to the original comics in that sense.
overall, i thought this sequel was by far better than the first, and i liked the first one. action, great cgi, drama, inner turmoil, and a cool guy with mechanical arms. how can you go wrong? i would most certainly suggest that anyone go see it, especially if you enjoyed the first one.
