What about Ed Reed he had an even better corner in front of him. And his numbers increased in every thing but tackles.

ed reed seems to be getting smarter by the minute. and its showing up on the field. i guess having to look ray lewis in the eyes on the sideline and say, i screwed up is a situation he doesn't want to be in. i think i'd rather face the coach, than to face lewis.
but for real, reed is only getting better. it'll be interesting to see if he improves even more this year, and thats just scary.

Yeah, he definately isn't overrated. Can you imagine having Ed Reed, and Sean Taylor for safeties? Much more thought on that will make me get the "Ohh" face!

As well he should, to maintain his place in the elite DB list.
Your whole thread was about some obscure writer putting Williams 19 places over a man who has never played a snap in the Big Time.
You're toast, baby.

"Well just to kinda show u here are Bailey Stats from last year.
BAILEY: Takles 66 Solo's 61 Sacks 1 INTs 5 with 1 touch down

NEWMANS: Takles 79 Solo's 69 Sacks 1 INTS 4 with 0 touch downs

Both very good. Here are this years for Bailey

BAILEY: Tackles 71 Solo's 68 Sacks 1 INTS 5 with 0 touchdowns"

Those stats really go to show how falliable stats are in determining the ability of a player. By looking at those selected stats it would seem that Mr Newman is clearly the better player. However if thats the case, it makes no logical sense why many analyists refer to Champ as the best corner in the league today.

I fail to understand why people continue to use stats to try to measure quality, it simply doesnt work.

P.S you debate these men like they exist in a vacuum. Roy is without a doubt a great player, and contributed to the cowboys #1 defense last year. However he wasnt doing it alone. There were 10 other men on the feild all working togeather and that can produce stats to be somewhat inflated.

This is the most tell tale profound statement that anyone has said, that I can use to support my point.

Physically IMO Arrington is above Lewis. But every since Lewis almost had to wear the ORANGE JUMPSUIT, he has become a student, teacher, coach, mentor and sort of big brother figure. Ray Lewis has dayum near cut out his hanging out and partying ways to become a PROFESSIONAL. I think most of the defensive players would probally rather face the coach before Lewis. Lewis has taken several players under his wings to tutor them. Why cannt Arrington be the same way, he sure is scarier looking then Ray. If Ray Lewis was a Redskin, he would be the undisputed leader of the defense, he probally could have rallied what you had last year and been a top 10 defense. Reed will only continue to get better under Lewis, and that makes others around them better also.

lavar Arrington has NOTHING to do with this thread... this is just a classic example of flaming and will no longer be tolerated. Get back to the original thread topic, or start a new thread but according to the new rules, this is grounds for sanctioning.

Check rule #6 in the Site news section if you haven't already... and learn it... because it will be enforced dilligently.

Back to safeties...

I can't believe that you guys let "TheKey" bait you into a four page argument about a ridiculous ranking system, and a hypothetical argument that cannot be answered. How could that have happened? Don't you know that you're supposed to ignore th........Oh Wait....It's July!

Actually, I always thought Kenard Lang was somewhat of a bust, considering his draft position.

Laugh away... I'm serious as a heart attack.

Wanna find out?

Test me.

The admins of this site are sick and tired of routing through the off-topic conversation to get to the actual meat of the discussion.

If you don't like it... you'll be missed.

Ray lewis may have something to do with the safety thread but Lavar most CERTAINLY does not.

... now if you had started a thread that was about Ray Ray VS Lavar, it would have been fine. But you didn't... you FLAMED this thread with something completely irrelevant to the thread topic.

Like I said... test me... I promised that I would enforce the new rule with EXTREME prejudice... and we intend to.

It may even ruffle a few feathers for a while, but we're doing what we can to make this board more enjoyable for the Redskin fans... and if you don't like that... que sera sera...

Its about as rediculous as ESPNs ranking of the top 10 teams.

Besides, its not like I made it up.

And its 5 pages now.
