Post by 1niksder »

By Jason Reid

In a major blow to the Redskins' return units, dynamic rookie returner Brandon Banks underwent knee surgery last week and could be sidelined two weeks, two people familiar with the situation said Sunday morning.

There's knee surgery, and then there's knee SURGERY...

One is a week or 2 recovery, the other the season...

So, which is it?

The Redskins do not expect Banks to play when they resume their schedule Nov. 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles, the sources said. If all goes well with Banks's rehab, however, he could return in time for the Week 11 game against the Tennessee Titans at LP Field.

Bring a shaman, a witch, a minister, a priest, -and- even the Dalai Lama to exorcise the demons out of this team. It is a curse, I tell you. In only one week, we have turned around the outlook of the season from promising and exciting to doubtful and worrisome.

It is as if there is an effort by some evil power to blur any single faint ray of hope.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

To be honest, at his size, it's a miracle he lasted so long before serious injury.

He'll bounce back...and we'll be fine.

Well I have to say, when someone gets hurt. I'm glad MS is here to find the replacement guy instead of JZ
I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.

With Torain and CP limited today they are leaning towards Davis in the backfield, so Chad maybe inactive again this week...

BUT
In other Armstrong news, he's been mentioned as a candidate to return punts now that Brandon Banks is injured.

"I do whatever coach tells me to do," Armstrong said. "If he wants me to throw a pass, I'll throw one, too. I'll do whatever I'm asked to do. I took kicks back before in college, so I think I can do it on the NFL level."

I asked him to compare his own speed to Banks's; "I'm faster than Brandon Banks," Armstrong said, without blinking. "C'mon now. I'm faster than him. He's real quick though, I will say that. He probably has maybe a little bit more shiftiness than me, but I'm just as fast, if not faster."

Nice work RiC
Two days after coach Mike Shanahan ruled return man Brandon Banks out 2-3 weeks following knee surgery, he changed course today.

Although Banks did not practice, Shanahan said there is a chance he’ll be available Monday against Philadelphia.

“He’s doing a good job in rehab – he’s getting 3-4 treatments a day and has made some strides,” Shanahan said.

Size DOES matter...
Working in Banks’ favor is his size (155 pounds) according to Shanahan.

“Not as much weight on that knee,” Shanahan said. “We’re keeping our fingers crossed but there is a chance.”

Puff, puff, pass. Don't mess with the rotation!
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Redskins WR/KR Brandon Banks (knee surgery) is tentatively slated to play Monday night, according to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.

Banks just had surgery to repair a torn meniscus two weeks ago, but appears to be close to 100 percent. The return specialist has proven to be an asset, ranking seventh in the league in kickoff return average and third on punt returns.
