JCam's true colors..... bench warmer

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Come on Frank, there is no doubting the fact you are a true fan, but eat crow and be done with it. JC is just not a good QB and the OAK situation is how he should have been treated in DC. We literally WASTED 4 F-ING YEARS with JC.

His brief time in OAK has shown that he makes the OL worse due to his slow release, inability to make decisions and read defenses --- and that dumping the ball off wasn't a product of the offense. Regardless of what he thinks, he isn't a starter. I literally thought I was taking crazy pills after watch JC with the skins and people supporting him....as they say, talent rises.......

I know this is an old thread, but, wasn't it you mark that posted the pictorial evidence way back showing Campbell passing to underneath guys, with deeper routs (still in view) open .... several of them?

Well, the latest on Campbell with the Raiders is exactly what you and I had been saying all along ... and now Cable even said it ....

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8 ... coach-says

The Raiders didn't complete a pass in the second or third quarters and had just three after the first quarter. Two came on back-to-back throws, a short pass that Zach Miller turned into a 22-yard gain, followed by a tipped ball that he caught with a dive for a 26-yard gain.

That pass was the only downfield throw that Campbell completed all day. Every other pass was caught less than 10 yards away, including three behind the line of scrimmage.

"I think the plays are there," Cable said. "I think it shows up on film that they were there, but we're just not executing, whether it's a throw or whether it's a route."

The reason why this Campbell thing won't die is because of the denial that was always present (and still is) refusing to admit that most of Campbell's difficulties with the Redskins were his own lack of ability to make plays. And the experience the Raiders are now having are EXACTLY the same experiences and difficulties here.

And as quirky and strange as Zorn certainly was ... in retrospect, he was dealt an un-winnable hand with Campbell as his QB.

It puts things in perspective when you look at the fast start the Redskins had under Zorn in 2008, going 6-2 to start the first half of the season ... as it was a combination of real strong running from Portis, and three or four competent games from Campbell, only to finish 2-6 for the second half.

Had Campbell been a competent QB ... the Redskins could have limped into the playoffs in 2008 if only they had managed to score a few points and finish 4-4 for the second half of the season.

Yes it was me. He has so many deficiencies, it is crazy. And that 2-6 finish was a direct result of teams loading up the box and making JC beat them -- and that is why we went 2-6.

JC is/was a coach killer. Just wait, because if Cable doesn't see it, his days are numbered.

Now 59 points is impressive; but what is more impressive is that JC was able to do it only throwing 20 passes for 180 yards. The real scoring came from the 52 rushing attempts and the TOs. I must say that it was an impressive game regardless of the fact that DEN is 2nd in the NFL in defensive points allowed. JC played a decent game -- but judging from his past, Cable will only be able to get about 1-2 more of those this year.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

According to Frank, it was 15 passes (only 8 complete) for 130 yards.

QBs get way too much credit and way too much blame - I watched part of this mess and Campbell had very little to do with this - this was a case of 2 bad teams but Denver really screwed up big time here

Campbell is not a bad QB but he's not close to being a good QB either - he's still very hard to watch
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I'll give credit to him, he played well

In my opinion having a good game doesn't change anything - this is a QB that just cannot be counted on to be both a QB and a leader

Campbell is not and cannot be a winner - does not have that ability

I'm sure John Beck would make a fine QB behind a decent O line with McFadden and Bush running the ball.

A lot of haters in this thread. I think everyone would admit that JC had his best season with us last year, and that he had the least around him last year than any other year. Mostly the absence of Chris Samuels is what I'm speaking of. There's no doubt he was improving.

Not Improving like becoming one of the best in the league, but improving. Slowly. Every year. Last year being the biggest leap he took. He's not elite, but he can play. I actually credit Zorn for a lot of his improvements, although that man has no place coaching a team. We really don't know if Campbell will improve upon being a decent qb to an above average one, but I guess we will find out.

Regardless... Campbell has NEVER been a leader, and has NEVER been able to play without the lead. That's simply the story of his career... Good guy. Huge talent. Just not a football player. Will be a career back up... not a good back up, mind you... he has no ability to bring a team back from behind.

I'm not a hater... I pulled HARD for Campbell for several years... waiting for that big arm to start hitting receivers in stride. Waiting for him to show some soul, and, just every once in a while, put the team on his back and carry it to the end zone, when you were desperate for a score... he never grew to that point... and I simply don't see him ever getting there.

I agree. I'm glad that we kept him around as long as we did, because I really thought he might have made the jump at some point. Unfortunately, it sometimes just doesn't work out. But at least we didn't instead go through 4-5 different quarterbacks in a comical rotation during the 3-4 years he had the reins.

And at least we did not put any former Florida gators under center during his time here. Hell, even Zorn was smart enough to know you don't trust any quarterback from Florida!
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Yes.

Oh, and any QB not named Tom Brady would have played miserably against the Steelers yesterday. I'm no making up excuses for JC, just pointing out how great that defense is.
