Also, when DHall went to his knees, I thought there was the potential that he would get called for a PF. And when the flag was thrown on that play, I thought it was being called on DHall; fortunetely it was a PF on CHI. So I don't think it was crazy for Aikman to think that.
How could a player be called for a PF for going to his knees after a play? It's not excessive, nor is it two or more players joining the celebration. How is that any different than doing a dance?
I agree. It wasn't a multi-player celebration and shouldn't have been a PF. But with the way the NFL is getting on celebrations, hits, tweets, and other things, you can never be too sure.
I was just worried that the whole TD celebration display could have been considered "taunting" -- which is an unsportsmanlike conduct PF. Now, I didn't think it was taunting, but this penalty is a subjective one and you never know what the refs may consider a taunt. Those types of penalties can include prolonged celebrations. After all, the entire celebration was pretty prolific with DHall on his knees in the corner of the endzone with his hands spread apart and appearing to be staring into the face of the opposing fans -- it was pretty dramatic. You just never know. But to reiterate, I didn't see it as unsportsmanlike -- but, yes it was overly dramatic.
It was an homage to Deion Sanders.

I believe one of the new No Fun League rules talked about fining players for cele's like this one... I know there was a lot of uproar in my area about Jared Allen's lasso dance. Apparently, the league told him if he did this celebration and ended up on one knee as is always the finale, he would be fined and penalized. I thought it was going to be a penalty for sure.
As far as my opinion on the rule/celebration: Let's be honest, it's no big deal. There are a lot worse things going on in and out of the endzone than a man sliding on his knees... There is no other sport (not even golf) that would penalize you for that celebration. I actually found it pretty tame.
I doubled checked the "Jared Allen Rule". I cannot find a specific rule, but the articles I've read specifically cite "going down to his knees" as the big no-no according to NFL rules. I would expect DeAngelo to get fined about $25,000 for this one... Chalk up another W for the No Fun League...

Who photoshopped Orakpo into that pic?
Seriously though, was that the TD or one of the other INTs? The former is a penalty, but the latter is just two guys celebrating.

This was after Hall's 3rd INT as they were walking towards the sideline.
Yup... the only Redskin who was near Hall when he was celebrating after his pick 6 was 'los, who had been trailing and interfering with the pursuit...

Troy Aikman's comments came after Hall's pick 6. This pic, was from another one of the 6 picks.
Aikman has had his good games and his bad games - yesterday IMHO was not a good game for him at all - I think that he tries (especially with us) to be a good color guy but yesterday he seemed to just keep making comments that are uncalled for - he's normally not too bad and there are a lot worse
I don't like him (he's a former puke for crying out loud - once a puke ....) but he's not as obnoxious as some
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I think the rule is stupid too, but it's the rule. If a player goes to his knee in celebration, he's supposed to get flagged. Don't you remember the controversy over Jared Allen and the calf roping where he goes down to a knee and the league told him if he didn't stop he'd be flagged. As for prayers, the league came out and said that you can go down to one knee in the endzone in prayer, just not down to two knees. Don't ask me, I don't make the rules. I just report to everybody so they can see how ridiculous they are.
Speaking of penalties, did anybody else see how far offsides Orakpo was on one of those...Geez, I love the guy, but come on, it was borderline absurd how "in the neutral zone" he was.
Aikman is a dope. He repeatedly said that Williams and Brown struggled mightily against Mathis & Freeney the week before. Really Troy?? Freeney didn't even get on the stat sheet. 0 tackles 0 sacks. Two weeks ago he also said the Witten is hands down the best TE in the league. They guy isn't even top 5 any more....and he said that Miles Austin is the second best WR in the NFL. ????? WTF? I could name at least 10 that I'd rather have on my team.

They did struggle with Mathis and Freeney. Everyone struggles with them. Defensive ends can dominate games without getting statistics. Williams did better than most tackles do against Freeney without a doubt. Brown got beat up pretty bad my Mathis and it was pretty consistent. Witten is not the best TE in the league or even close. That man is soft and hates getting hit. One of the only TE's in the NFL that slides or runs out of bounds to avoid contact. I would take ey even if I was not a skins fan. Miles Austin is very, very good. He did have a bad game last night, but he absolutely tourched us and is the leading receiver in the NFL from his first week starting (Last year against KC) and on.
