I hate the Cowboys and hated Aikman, but he is easily the most knowledgeable announcer in the NFL. He tells it exactly how it is and is never agenda-driven.

Personally, I like Tim Ryan the most out of the fox guys. And I'd take Madden any day of the week. Love how he can fit Favre into any game he was calling even though Favre wasn't playing.

He has been calling our games because we have been the nationally televised game on fox..

Joe Buck and Troy are the crew who they have for the nationally televised games for the network.. and the only reason Buck hasnt been there is because of the baseball playoffs..

this is why he has been doing our games.. for the Lions game we are going to have the B or C team and in my opinion you can tell a difference the farther down it goes .. as much as I hate Aikman he is better than alot of the other guys out there

1)I am not positive he was praising God. 2)I don't know why Aikman thought it could have been a penalty.

I don't agree with everything he says, but he tells it how he sees it. He does not have to use over-complimentary phrases after every single play actually holds players and coaches accountable. A lot of the announcers (Gruden) like to praise everyone and no one makes a mistake.

I don't understand the hate for Aikman. If anything he has been a vocal supporter of Skins players. He has gone on the record several times calling Portis his favorite RB in the NFL. I guess I just don't see it.

He made one comment today about DHall going to his knees...in reality, if the refs were as ticky-tac as they have been in previous weeks DHall would have gotten flagged 4 times for going to his knees (it's his signature move when he makes a pick) and then they would have also been flagged for Haynesworth's hit on a guy who wasn't even involved in the play on the runback. I'm just glad the NFL has wised up (at least for a week) and didn't call these ridiculous fouls.

I agree! I have always felt that Aikman is pretty complimentary towards the Skins. As you said he always goes out of his way to say how he loves to watch portis play. Let's hope he calls many more Redskins' games. He is part of Fox's "A" team and that means the Skins are winning and playing in meaningful games!

Oh and another poster said he is better than Moose Johnson... +1 my friend.

Nope, he was paying homage to Deion Sanders. :puke:

Totally disagree!
He is insanely biased against the skins! B Mitch even commented on it after the game.

You are used to listening to people that are extremely partial to the Redskins. He is not biased against the Redskins. If he is, he certainly does not show it during games he is announcing. What did he say that can be considered a biased opinion?

I used to think Aikman was the best, but this year he has seemed particularly anti-Skins. I can't remember the specific comments, but I do remember saying "Just shut up, Troy." several times yesterday.

With no knowledge of what Aikman said since I didn't see the game, I'm curious as to how much positivity was, or even should have been, heaped onto either participant in a game featuring 9 TURNOVERS? I mean, great that we got the win, but that's atrocious.

Overall I've liked Aikman in the booth, especially considering my large chief zee headdress bias against him.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

First, I have always thought Aikman has been complementary of the skins -- especially over the past 5 years or so when the skins have been horrendous.

Also, when DHall went to his knees, I thought there was the potential that he would get called for a PF. And when the flag was thrown on that play, I thought it was being called on DHall; fortunetely it was a PF on CHI. So I don't think it was crazy for Aikman to think that.

How could a player be called for a PF for going to his knees after a play? It's not excessive, nor is it two or more players joining the celebration. How is that any different than doing a dance?

I agree. It wasn't a multi-player celebration and shouldn't have been a PF. But with the way the NFL is getting on celebrations, hits, tweets, and other things, you can never be too sure.

I was just worried that the whole TD celebration display could have been considered "taunting" -- which is an unsportsmanlike conduct PF. Now, I didn't think it was taunting, but this penalty is a subjective one and you never know what the refs may consider a taunt. Those types of penalties can include prolonged celebrations. After all, the entire celebration was pretty prolific with DHall on his knees in the corner of the endzone with his hands spread apart and appearing to be staring into the face of the opposing fans -- it was pretty dramatic. You just never know. But to reiterate, I didn't see it as unsportsmanlike -- but, yes it was overly dramatic.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.
