Tough poll to vote in, because I have one simple rule; If someone else (a judge) has to tell me who won after it's over, then it is not a sport.

While divers, gymnasts et al. are extremely talented and athletic, those "sports" are no more "sports" than tap-dancing.
This space reserved for BTP......If he ever wins it.

That reminds me of a comment a teacher of mine said way back in high school. He said, "It's not a sport if you say you're playing it." The guy was a pervert who coaches the girl's track team, so I tried not to take anything he said seriously.

I always wondered what he thought of golf, though. You can either play golf or go golfing.

I am great baseball. I once had the highest hitting percentage in the Boys Club leageu I was in and lead it in HRs, but they still didn't make me an all star... Might be because I'm not a coach's son and am not skinny, fast, and "cool".

There are 2 versions of cricket - One day match and a first class match which varies in length from 3-5 days

Teams consist of 11 players (all of whom bat and can bowl) and any number of reserves who may substitute when their side is fielding if a player from the 11 is injured

A ball hit over the boundary on the full counts 6 runs
A ball hit to the boundary which hits the ground first counts 4 runs
Each length of the pitch completed by both batsmen counts one run

A batsman is out by one of

Being caught by a fielder
Being bowled (hitting the stumps at the batsmens end)
Being hit on the body with a ball that would have hit the stumps (called leg before wicket or lbw for short)
Being caught out of his ground by a fielder hitting the stumps with the ball
Handling the ball without the fielding teams permission

10 outs completes an innings, each team permitted 2 innings maximum except One day matches when there is only 1 innings per team with 50 overs per team - 6 balls from one bowler(pitcher)per over

Highest score wins

If I recall correctly, Trampoline was an Olympic Sport at either the '96 or 2000 Olympic Games. So.... trampoline.

I agree. I think curling was invented to trick kids into sweeping the ice in between little league hockey games.
