This HAS to be what we do. We have our LT, now we need a qb that can sit and learn from a winner like McNabb, and learn the system.

And for the record, i agree with Cleg. Mcnabb has not had much to work with other than Moss and Cooley. I am one of the people that was/is so frustrated with #5 when he throws dirt balls and misses open receivers. Then I thin about all the times J. Cambell would have inevitably fumbled on any number of those sacks mcnabb took. If Campbell didnt go all Origami and fold up before the 4th quarter, he surely would have fumbled on that last sack Mcnabb took.

Also, I dont know that stats, but it seems like we have already in 5 games had more deep throws completed that ALL of last few years. It aint always pretty but it could be so much worse. Still learing the offense, still Iffy O-lilne, NO #2 WR (although A.Armstrong could prove me worng on that hopefully), No consistent running game.... and yet we have beaten eagles, cowboys, packers. I'll take it.

I suspect that's the plan... but they need to find interior O line, a big WR, at least one cover corner, and an ILB/OLB.

Oh for sure. we still have holes no doubt. Hey while your at it, Could i get a FB (sellers getting up there in age), Some quality depth on Oline and Secondary while your at it? Shouldn't be tough with our dearth of draft picks.

I think that we will see the Skins draft, or trade for, a young quarterback to be groomed for 2-3 years under the tutelage of DM. As long as Donovan stays healthy, it's a great plan. Character wise, it would be similar to Derek Jeter mentoring the next shortstop-to-be. I know it's pro sports, and the good guys aren't always the best guys, but it's still a nice storyline.

feels good to win that one. A few points...

Has anyone noticed how badly Moore is missing tackles in the last few games starting with the Steven Jackson run a few weeks ago? He gets juked so badly.

Good to see Portis on the sideline helping Torain.

Cooley is money

Ditto for Moss

Banks is dangerous and will return a couple for TD's this year I bet

Alexander is a much better fit at LB. Played well today

Orakpo had a moster sack at the end of the game in what I sad at the time as being the most important play of the game.

Our O line had a horrible game. The 3-4 really seemed to confuse them.

Hunter the punter is such an improvement

great coaching on both sides today.
Miss you 21

Great game by the Skins. This defense did not look like the last-ranked defense in the NFL, and came up with some huge plays. We've got something of a running game going again. Offensive line play wasn't great, but McNabb made the best of his opportunities after struggling early on. (What's not to like about a QB who can take command in the 4th quarter like that?)

Opposing ST coaches are looking at film right now... and devising ways of kicking away from him... That's not necessarily a bad thing, as it will cause short punts and out of bounds kickoffs... but, I agree... he will get some to the house.
Alexander is a much better fit at LB. Played well today
Alexander is looking like he was made for this... I love it, this is such a TEAM first guy, he deserves to start.
Orakpo had a moster sack at the end of the game in what I sad at the time as being the most important play of the game. Orakpo is a beast. I think he's forced so many holding calls... those are almost as good as sacks.

Our O line had a horrible game. The 3-4 really seemed to confuse them.
2 things... we miss Portis blocking... nobody can blow up a blitz like him... and Clay Matthews... once he left the game, line play got dramatically better.
Hunter the punter is such an improvement

I NEVER understood why he wasn't brought back... and yesterday's game underlines the reason I didn't. The guy is quality, and adds other dimensions if needed, as well...

cvillehog wrote:There's a lot of season left, but let's consider for a moment the accepted storyline about the Redskins this season: old, under talented, one of the hardest schedules, and the worst team in the division.

Yet, this team has pulled out 3 wins against teams they were supposed to lose to (and one loss to a team they were supposed to beat), including two road division wins. They are getting it done any way they can, and while the almost-worst ranked defense has given up plenty of yards, they aren't giving up very many points. Meanwhile, when the offense has clicked, they have looked crazy dangerous (granted, they haven't clicked very often, but how great were the first few series against Philly?). It's been practically forever since we've strung together two wins, and I'm really enjoying it, no matter where this season ends up.

Yeah, he's really been a gem for us. Per dollar spent we've gotten more out of Alexander than we could ever hope to get out of his chunky teammate on the line . . .

Orakpo had a moster sack at the end of the game in what I sad at the time as being the most important play of the game. Orakpo is a beast. I think he's forced so many holding calls... those are almost as good as sacks.

Orakpo is up in that tier with Sean Taylor: because he's on the field, you just don't worry about that position. Now if only we could have seen the two of them together on D . . .

Hunter the punter is such an improvement

Well, he's now well on his way to having earned a starting spot next year and beyond. I like him quite a bit, and like you didn't understand why we cut him before.

Not so fast, Hogster. While NO ONE (to my knowledge) is arguing for bringing back JC, let's not fool ourselves into thinking our 3-2 start is otherworldy.

Consider the following.

1) We lost to a team that just got SPANKED by the previously winless Lions.

2) We gave up a 17-point lead, AT HOME, to a team that has been beaten handsomely by two of our division rivals.

3) Our first win came against a pre-season Super Bowl favorite, which today, at 1-3, is a basement dweller in the NFC EAST.

4) Yup, the COWBOYS SUCK, and the standings back it up!!!!

Detroit's got a good team. They were winless because they had been playing other good teams.

I've got no excuse for Houston.

The Pies are always overrated.

We really could be 5-0 but that wouldn't mean we are as good as that anymore than a couple of years ago when we started 6-2 and many here thought we were a pretty good team - I remember saying that the 6-2 record was not even close to reflecting the level of that group

the Lions are much better than the Rams - just because we did not beat them does not make them a good team

The Colts lost to the Texans but the Texans aren't even close to the Colts - that doesn't mean anything this week either

we are an 8-8 or 9-7 team that has won a 3 games but could just as easily be 5-0 - means nothing - what is good is the way things are coming together and this group which is very, very old and is going to start showing their age, sooner or later, is playing better each week and hanging in there like days of old

any given Sunday - bring on the Colts

btw - the Coyboys really do suck
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I disagree that the Texans aren't even close to the Colts.
The Colts have issues stopping the run. Which is why the Texans ran for over 200 yards that day. Plus the Texans won that day. The better team won.

Our team will have its hands full this Sunday no doubt. If anything Colts defense is their weakness. Peyton Manning is all world we all know that. So we just have to contain the Colts offense and get a few turnovers.
Our offense has to have a good day as well.

If we can run the ball effectively, we can chew up clock, and keep Peyton off the field.

I'm just happy Dmac is the QB, he can run when the pocket collapses or someone comes free he can "feel" and make something out of it, even if it's an incomplete dirtball. We will have our hands full up front, but if we can somehow enforce NFC East style smashmouth football, we will grind them out at in the end and squeak out another W.
