McNabb, Haynesworth, Portis all questionable for Redskins
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8 ... _headlines
Is this a smoke screen? Or could we actually be going into this game
without two top offense performers?
I'm thinkin they both will still start and play. I know Portis wont sit out with anything less then a concussion or broken bones...
I'm guessing we wont see Haynesworth though since he missed practice all week.

Haynesworth was limited in practice on Thurs. but all three practiced fully on Friday.
Portis and McNabb were both questionable last week.
It's a smoke screen, in two weeks, the Redskins have listed no one as probable.

Smoke screen! Belicheck has made this into an artform. It sounds like every week up here for the Patriots. Brady was "probable" for almost an entire season recently and never missed a down. It became a running joke for local sportscasters.

frankly, I don't understand the purpose of such reporting. Of COURSE, gamesmanship will seep into these determinations, devaluing the system... so, why do it at all?

Well, think about who'd object if they stopped. ESPN and news outlets who like to use it to be something to cover. Then to your point they can report on the gamesmanship. Bogus, you're dead on. But it's an entertainment business and injury reports are entertainment. That's the only reason. If they served a competitive purpose then the NFL would be checking teams statistics in their use. The only time the NFL cares though is when someone reports something obviously bogus.
Hail to the Redskins!
