Most Hated Cowboy

Post by Smithian »

Through history, what Cowboy do you hate the most?

I have to go with Michael Irvin... I think most of you know why.

Neon Deion isn't on the list, so I voted for Irvin. I guess that my hatred for Sanders isn't so much because he was a puke, but more so because of who he was. I think I may have even hated him more as a Redskin.

I'm curious to know how the older (God bless'em) Hogs.net members feel about guys like Staubach or even Landry. I'd imagine that it would be easy enough to hate them given their team affiliation (and I didn't witness them beating up on us), but I personally take a great liking to Landry, much like I think Lombardi is one of the greatest ever.

For me, it's a tie between Deion and Irvin. I've never really disliked Emmitt. He is usually pretty classy.

I find it hard to believe that someone voted for an option other than Irvin. Even I can't stand him.

I had to vote other becuse I hate :explode: Jerry Jones the most, and Bill Par-cells-out isn't high on my list either, although I do respect his coaching.

I guess I'm one the the "older" guys. I like to refer to it more in terms of "maturity" though. I have watched the Cowboys since they were an expansion team in the 60's. Gulp!

I gotta tell you, I hated Roger the Dodger. The reason I hated him is that he really was good. In fact, he was classy, unlike many of the pukes today. I remember the last game of the '79 season when he engineered that amazing comeback against us (among many). He really was on the wrong team. He was classy enough to be a Gibb's skin.

I respected Landry, but I found him to be a little too stuffy, but he did have class. I really didn't like what Jones did to him because he was as instrumental to the rivalry as was George Allen and Diron Talbart. They really were better than us back then, but we always were overachievers and would play them pretty even. The tide turned to us with the "NO Danny No! playoff game in the early 80s.

Oh. I forgot to tell you the guys I hated: Calvin Hill, Duane Thomas, Jethro Pugh, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Bob Lilley, Randy White, Bob Hayes, Tony Dorsett and so many more. Again, a lot of that was just because they were Pukes. They were pretty good though.

I really liked Dandy Don.

Who voted Roger Staubach?

Jake, I agree... I only put Emmitt there because he is a major Cowboy figure through NFL history. He is a good RB, and doesn't deserve Arizona, even though he is a Cowboy. Though, he selfishly keeps every ball he ever scored a TD with...

I have to agree completly with Genuswine Hoglover. Stabach was a great QB and I hated Him with all my heart, that's all the parts of My broken heart that He stomped on time and time again.

As far as Emmit Smith goes. He is one of the all time greats but I lost respect for Him when He pushed His teamate out of the way and took His helmet off in the SB for a picture after scoring a TD. I guess He figured that He drove the ball down the field all by Hisself.

Iremember Emmitt thumping his chest after a score at Washington screaming, "This is my house ! This is my house !"
Yeah. Real classy.
Still, Irvin gets my vote... although I actually felt badly for him when the fans at the Vet were delighted at his eventual career-ending injury on that damnable turf.

I can't believe there is a poll with out Deion in it, he was the biggest player I have ever hated, he never, and I mean never played for us, I was in a comma during that part of the year, ( Not Really ) but you get my point. How can you have a poll with the most hated cowboy ever and not have Deion in it, I know CrackWagon Irvin is a close pick, but Deion Sanders, come on, whoever thought this poll up redo it with Deion in it, he is alot higher up than most of the people you have in it !!! I guess you would consider him other, but he was one of the worst corners ever, ( find my humor in that) Cowpuke fan. Deion should be number one on that list, can anyone tell, I hate Deion ????

Irvin all the way... Roger and Emmitt are class acts, and I respect them, even though they have beaten us so many times. :(

I had to go with "Other" cuz the only one I have been Angry with has been Quincy! That lovely roll to the right, throw off the back foot to the opposition really gets my blood boiling. I don't think I have ever Hated a Cowboy, but there was not alot of love or love lost when Ryan Leaf was sent packing!

Gotta be Roger!!! I grew up watching the skins since the late 60's, and many a day was ruined by this guy. Yeah he was a nice guy and a great player - but I loved it when we rung his bell, just wished we could have done it more.
