I totally agree with that assessment and that we need to find offensive linemen that are good enough that Dockery AND Heyer is not even able to be considered as a back up lineman here, that's all
I guess my point is that we all knew that they would not be able to replace the entire line in one off-season... they did it about as I expected... they focused the big attention to obtaining first class tackles... and then did what they could to secure inside talent. Remember that it was very likely that BMW was going to be the starting RG... that would have left Hicks to be the primary back up Right Tackle... making Heyer's reign more tenuous.
If BMW doesn't go down with a serious illness, is Heyer still here? Next year, more focus on interior line (G/C) and additional depth. It still stands. A journeyman lasts only as long as there is not a more talented journeyman that comes along.

No one wants to speak to this huh? Seller is a liability......he has hurt this team more than helped it (lately)
Sounds like Portis the tortus. IMO, they should've kept Betts and Cartwright and dumped Tortus and Sellers....
And how, exactly, would that have been an improvement? Betts is older, less effective, and oh yeah, not on any team this year. You could make an argument to replace Portis, but arguing to replace him with Betts is like arguing to replace him with Riggins at this point.
With the Cardinals reaching the Super Bowl, is Dan Snyder officially the worst owner in the league?

Hardly. Betts and Cartwright were both tough runners to bring down, which is exactly the type of backs we need since our O-line cant seem to open holes. Portis is a good open field runner, but he goes down if someone even brushes up against him. He's not a tough runner at all.
I think that Portis will show that he's still got something left - I think he's a lot better that grampi is intimating here - No, he's not a huge back but he's not lost much and ANY RB needs SOME help from his interior linemen
Portis is not going to be an issue with our ground game IF we have one
Sellers was a disapointment but it's just 1 game
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Sellers "disappointing" performances covered most of last year, too... he no longer explodes into blocks... he is indecisive and mushy. He's lost his stuff... an' I don't think it's coming back.

Shanahan (Kyle & Mike) is not playing Sellers if he cannot help NO WAY
If you see Sellers on the field at all - it's ONLY because they like what he's doing
the best thing I noticed at this game was the intensity and attitude
we found a way to win a game against a better team - sure the pukes players AND coaches made a lot of mistakes, but we still came away with more points
we just need to play the same way against the teams we're better than and hope we get lucky against the others
Huge kudos to both the coaches and players for finding a way to win

Portis hasn't been productive for quite some time now and I realize the problem isn't just with him. It has a lot to do with our O-line, but given the fact that our O-line doesn't created many holes for our backs to run through, wouldn't it make more sense for our feature back to be more like a Brandon Jacobs type back?
I have always and still contend that CP still has a ton to contribute. He is a good RB and personally, I think that was clear when Johnson came in and was ineffective.
He has never had any OL to run behind and no passing game whatsoever to support the running attack. Once the OL solidifies and DM clicks with his receivers, we will see what CP can do.....finally.

How many years now have we been waiting for the O-line to solidify? Good running backs are a dime a dozen in this league, why not pick up one who's a tough runner? Portis simply will not be productive until our line can open holes big enough to drive a truck through, and I don't see that happening anytime soon....

Better team??? Are you kidding me? The Pies are NOT a better team than the Skins.
you're right - we are a better team - the pukes will win the NFC East but we'll be able to say we are a better team

actually - I would not be at all surprised to see us at the top of the table after this weekend - we're still not winning the NFC East

I guess I don't see us as not winning the NFC East as a lack of faith - it's just looking at our progress differently
I think we ... you know what? you're right, we are winning it all
how great is that

Your lack of faith amazes me. We are going to win the East this season, and I'll be sure to bring this post back up when we do.
