Yes .. I would agree that those two were the most logical competitors for the last WR spot. Though I am somewhat surprised, as Austin looked to be very impressive, quick, with good hands.

But .... there is also the possibility the the Redskins may be working a deal for Houshmandzadeh ... which would be a very smart move to add a quality experienced WR.

The Austin cut is very surprising. Could mean Bobby Wade made the team. Could also mean they are deep in negotiations with the Chargers and are making room for a trade. After all his fumbles, it is tough to see Banks making the team, but maybe.

I think all the signs are pointing to Banks making the team ... so I guess the thinking is we can't load the spot with rookies .... Banks will make it as a ST player, rather than a WR.

So that leaves either 4 or 5 spots depending on how many the choose to keep ....

Repeat after me Houshmandzadeh, Houshmandzadeh, Houshmandzadeh ... this is without a doubt in my mind THE best available option at WR. Jackson, aside from not being eligible for the first 6 games ... along with one more strike and he's OUT, is too much of a risk, with little reward this year .... and he's going to want $$$$ and the Chargers are going to want compensation.

I'm really going to be disappointed with the Skins if they don't at least make a valiant effort to grab TJ.

Actually if we trade for him before 6pm tonight he would only miss 3 games and if we dont his price goes waaaaaay down (possibly a 3rd and 5th)....I would really like VJ hes young and beast, I think he would be worth the money too if not....Yea Housh would definitely be a upgrade over anyone behind Moss (I think, i have no idea how he played in Seattle last year)[/code]

Me too... the problem is, if they try, and fail, how will you know? They'll never say.

Secrets never remain secret forever .... word gets out.

And let's face it ... what would be a better fit for both sides? TJH would provide a solid possession receiver with a lot of experience and some elevation:

If they keep 6:

Moss
TJH
Armstrong
Thomas
Banks
Galloway

Drop Galloway if they only keep 5.

He had solid numbers playing on a bad team. He could be the tipping point in transforming rotation with a couple of big question marks, to a pretty decent one.

Jackson just seems like he's too much of a risk with putting himself into a position of the "one strike" you're out category.

I know he wasn't getting paid the $$$ ... but still ... TWO DWI's ? Take a FREAKING CAB like everyone else does ... until you can afford a chauffeur.

Anthony Bryant made the team at NT.

WR are holding an open spot to pick-up a WR from another team (it's being reported).

Also Chase Daniel beat out Patrick Ramsey for the back-up job for the Saints and Ladell Betts was cut (Ex-Skins on the Saints)

How do you know this, until all of the cuts have been announced?

Yeah, all two of them.
He muffed a punt, too, but that's different.

He had three fumbles and a muffed punt in 4 games. That's a lot. Plus he had some bobbles that resulted in incomplete passes. He seems to have trouble holding onto the ball.
With the Cardinals reaching the Super Bowl, is Dan Snyder officially the worst owner in the league?

The problem with getting TJ is his contract. He's got $7 million guaranteed. So Seatlle doesn't save money by cutting him. They'll likely keep him unless they get a trade offer plus an agreement to pay a large portion of his salary. Would you give a pick plus $4 million for him?

Carter is a bit of a surprise. Perhaps Moore is going to be ready sooner than expected?

Um no, they count the muff as a fumble, but I see them as different.

They officially have cut him. He's a FA.

They cut Selvish Capers? I thought he was looking like a decent back-up

as I recall, doesn't that mean a team can pick him up, pay him less and Seattle has to pay the difference?

Haynesworth is getting 4 Mil per game ... why not 4 Mil for a season that's likely to help just as much or more.

If it was a trade, yes. But I think they have to pay him the full 7 million now. Anything he gets from his new team is gravy.

Seattle has to cover anything sort of the $7 mil.

The vet min for TJ would be just under $9K The Seahawks would be on the hook for $6.1 mil for a guy they gave $9 mil to sign with them one year ago.

That's right. Just like we did with DeAngelo. Raiders owed him his salary and he signed on with the Skins for an additional $1M for that one year.
