Are you planning on meeting up with your fellow theHogs.net brethren at training camp? Now that dates are set (camp will open to the public on July 31st)... we want to know whom among you is going to be heading to camp.

This is an official sign-up thread... if you post that you will be coming to visit us at camp, then you will be contacted via e-mail privately about hotel rates, dates etc. etc... so please only post if you are serious about attending.

I'll be the first to submit... Taz and BossHog will be at camp starting July 31st and will be there for approx. 2 weeks.

We also want to know what locals are planning on attending.

What do you guys think about trying to have an official theHogs.net BBQ on August 1st? (I doubt there will be practices on Sunday) If interest is high enough with both locals and 'imports' such as myself, then we may try to put together a very informal gathering to have some food, get to know each other, and maybe try and get some 'special' visitors.

Sound off peeps...

Because of this jury duty thing, I can't commit and it really irks me because I was planning on attending for the last 6-7 months! Hopefully, I'll be able to come down for a day or two. Exactly when, however, I dunno. ](*,) :explode:

Niki, Jackson and I will be there at various times. I will be there every weekday possible for my lunch break. Niki and Jackson will probably be with me on weekends. We will see you all there.....all for a BBQ as well. That would be excellent.

I'm taking off the first week in August but not sure which days Jake and I will be going yet...I hate weekends at training camp (expecially in Ashburn) but we may make an appearance on the 31st and / or the 1st. Still thinking on that!

I'm looking at spending a couple of days around the 8th of august...I would prefer it to hover around a fan appreciation day. But I'll talk to the wife for specifics. Not sure If I can squeeze the BBQ, coming from Florida and all...but I would/will if possible.

FFA (aka Daniel Coleman) should be there right around August 1st for a day trip. With any luck I'll bring my two brothers with me as well--and I'll be able to show them to the spot where all the best fans are.

Yeah, they close between the 7th and the 10th when they are to in and back from the HOF game. Then they are open the 11th and the 12th and then closed for good.

I'm there. I've put in for a couple days off from work to be there July 31-Aug. 3. That's going to be it. My next two days off are Aug. 8-9, when the team is in Canton.

Fan App. Day is big enough as it is. It'll be a zoo. Don't think that's the best day for the Hogs.net shindig. (Besides, I won't be there!)

With everything going on with me now in July and August, it looks like there is no way I'll be able to come down for a full week. As of today, I am hoping to be able to come down on Monday, August 2nd.

I'm semi-local (in-laws live in Reston, about 1 and 1/2 hours from me)...so I'm planning on doing a day trip on one of the Saturday practices open to public (either 7/31 or 8/7).

For those that have been before, I have some (perhaps, dumb) questions:

(1) Does anyone tailgate?
(2) Which Saturday would be better to attend. I don't necessarily want to be there with the casual fans, and I'm thinking the fan appreciation day might be clogged up with cursory fans and/or bandwagoners. Thoughts? Is that a bit too pretentious?
(3) Does The Danny attend? Fly in on his helicopter? Will he be accepting resumes? (just kidding)
Thanks guys...appreciate any input.

There weren't any people tailgating in the parking lot last year... they pack them in pretty good, i'm not sure if it would be allowed or not.

Fan Appreciation Day IS a zoo, but I'm not sure the Saturday before will be that much less busy. But there ARE 2 practices on the first Sat. which might give you more to do. Fan Appreciation Day is the ONE day you are guaranteed to get your most sought after autograph though, if that kind of thing appeals to you. if you want to watch some football, I would imagine 07/31 would be better.

3) Does The Danny attend? Fly in on his helicopter? Will he be accepting resumes? (just kidding)

Yep... he's usually sitting on a chair between field #1 and field #2 watching practice with Sonny.

We'll be meeting up each day somewhere, and we'll post that location on the board when we decide on somewhere. Those of us that are staying in the hotel will probably be meeting for breakie and then heading to practice for the AM sessions.

On the days that there are only PM practices... we'll be sleeping off the night before. :-)

Just to add to the tailgating part....I'm sure they would not allow that...especially the alcohol part of it. The first time they had camp in Ashburn they sold beer and it was awful.
