Redskin Fantasy players

Post by encinoman »

What players would you take on your fantasy team?
I like McNabb as my second QB in a late round (25 and 11). Portis as a second RB he should be productive in a zone running game (1,100 and 9).
I think Moss as a third WR he now has a QB that can throw a deep ball (950 and 8). I dont like Cooley I think Fred Davis cuts into his production. And I need to see that defense perform a little tougher throughout the preseason. I also dont like the defense becasue they have to face some high powered offensive systems this year. Whats your thoughts, do you put skins on your fantasy teams?

Tough question. It's hard to say before we see how this offense is actually going to operate. At this point I would say...McNabb as a backup, CP as a 3rd rb, Moss as a 3rd wr, and Cooley as a starting TE.

Canes - We agree on everything!!!!

In a PPR league, Cooley is going to be huge. Only b/c he's going to be a 3rd down demon. Moss as well. Those two will be the main guys on 3rd down. But don't read too much into Fred Davis. I think that if you're in a non-ppr league then the Skins may not be that great but if you're in a PPR league, then I think that there are a few options.

just a little note - Dexter McCluster (KC) is listed as a RB/WR and with his speed and big play ability, he's one to keep an eye on.

The TE's, defense, Portis?

I have generally avoided the skins in the past aside from these players.

It's possible that both the TE's could be viable starting options. Although I wouldn't draft Davis very early, and he does take SOME value from Cooley.

Shanny could also jack up the RB situation.

So.... I may just be looking at the D for one of my D's? McNabb back-up qb. Portis mid rounds, Cooley mid-late rounds, Davis late rounds.

I certainly would not take any skins players before round 4, except maybe portis.

I have McNabb, Portis and Cooley on my team. I have Romo as QB and two stud RBs, however...along with Gates at TE. Looks like Cooley will be back up for a while.

I'm with you on McNabb, Moss and Cooley. I have a hard time seeing Portis putting up the numbers though. I love the guy as a Skin, but it seem like every year now something happens. I hope the Shannahan reunion coupled with an improved line brings a breakout year, but I can't in my head believe it'll happen. Davis could be a potential late draft pickup though. I think McNabb's going to be going primarily to Moss, Cooley and Davis and he'll complete a lot more of them the Campbell did.

I wouldn't worry about that. Cooley is the #1 TE, and is going to have a monster year.

I think they both are going to have monster years. Unfortunately a big part of the reason for that is going to be they're a better choice then our WR's

Money can make you change your mind bro.. I use to follow that mantra about the cowpunks too until I got demolished by a few of them. I have a few in one of my leagues now but I will NEVER play them vs the Skins.. other than that its about matchups

You guys hit it already.. Moss, Mcnugget, CP, and Cooley are the obvious. I like the Skins DST but not because of the defense, only because of the special teams. IDPs- Fletcher is God, Orakpo will be a stud and believe it or not, Reed Doughty did better for me than Landry did. Of course none of them had INTs but they all had good tackle numbers when I played them.

isn't there a place where this thread belongs?

I think LPJ is kind of the commish for Fantasy stuff
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I pick the Redskins in every game in my pool. I won it once and I make money most years. I'm well ahead overall.

I've had to learn the hard way that I can't play fantasy football. I'm too big of a Redskins homer. I always choose a bunch of skins early on and then won't choose anybody else from the division. I just can't see myself pulling for anyone else in the division to have a good day! I want them all to suck all the time!
