Kyle Shanahan's Offense

Post by Law Hog »

Is anyone else out there giddy with excitement as to the potential Kyle's offense has for the Redskins?

I'm thinking Santana Moss, Chris Cooley, Fred Davis and maybe even Devin Thomas will have MONSTER years!!!!

It should make for more exciting football. I really hope to see more big plays, and more TD's of course. Kyle isn't afraid to take chances and his gameplan hopefully will be focused more on playing to win, and less on playing not to lose. Maybe we'll actually see some long plays and score from outside of the 20's once in a while. It definately should be more fun to watch. I think this offense will be more aggressive in spreading the field and taking shots downfield.

Good thoughts Teeter. Campbell was scared to throw the ball more than 15 yards. 35% completion rate over 20 yards? That's terrible.
Kyle Shanahan has cahones and McNabb has the skill and the confidence to go down the field when the play is called. This alone will open the run game and allow for a more fluid offense.
I just hope the WR's don't let this offense down because K. Shanahan WILL NOT be able to do what he wants without some consistant WR play.

I have to disagree with the original poster though... Devin Thomas is a bum!!! That's right, make me eat crow Devin!!!

I think if both Shanahan's scheme's were combined well, meaning Mike Shanahan's running scheme and Kyle Shanahan's passing scheme then I can see a scoring machine. I'm thinking Moss, Cooley, Davis, Galloway, Armstrong, and yes Thomas and Austin. I'm leaving Kelly out for a reason..... I think he gets cut. Then there is Portis and Johnson. Heck the scheme alone has be excited. It's better then Zorn's.

Too bad we can't trade Thomas and Kelly for Jackson. I don;t usually get caught up in trade talk like this but No matter how good you think he is or isn't, HE IS better than both of those two. UGH... At least Davis is a stud from that draft class.

Jackson is starting the year suspended for his 2nd DUI. He's a bad risk.

The longer Jackson doesn't report to camp, the less and less I even want to consider him. Given all his baggage ( I don't care if you don't think DUI's are a big deal or not, they're illegal) and his limited success in the league, I don't think he has any room to negotiate here. It's the guys you see that want a new deal, who show up and do the right things are the one's who get their deals done quicker.

They tendered him at $600k. I think he's worth more than $600k. DUIs or not. Just put a clause in contract that will not cost the team money if he gets in to further trouble.

Very very very very excited.. all I have to go on is what I saw with Houston. Granted, they do have what I think is the best WR in the league but still I'm looking forward to it.
