Russell signing more Good than Bad

Post by BringBackGibbs »

We keep hearing about the signing of Russell as being so risky. Well wasn't Daryl Gardener a risk too last year? and what did he do? he came in and proved to be one of the best tackles in the NFL, only to leave after the season. I sure hope Russell proves to be a bargain pickup and shows us that he has matured. And what would make me happier is to see him stick around for another couple of years at least. I am just looking at this as the best bargain you could ask for. A stud DT for a low price. Once the year is over, we have to keep him around assuming all the issues of character are in check.

I am looking for immediate impact from this guy. The current tackles are so overpowered by offensive lines. His presence alone should lift our hopes and give the D some much needed confidence!
Wishing for the old glory days to return!

Absolutely.

Any semblance of his old self will command double teams and free up other guys.

Hey skins fans, dallas fan here from cowboysguide.com

The Russell siging can work 2 ways.

1. He can be a cancer for the team

2. Or he can revive his career.
a. If he does then i feel the skins should, build around him and Arrington.
b. Bailey may be gone after this year but Synder needs to do whatever it takes to keep him.

Welcome.

I think we just want some help out of Russell for this season and if he works out really well then put him in line to try get a paycheck.

Champ probably won't be back.... and we especially need to make sure that we don't do whatever it takes. If he wants to much money, we have to let him go. He's a little over-rated and there will be a lot of good, 'cheaper' options this offseason.

We need some pass rush.

Hopefully Russell can bring a little Sunday against your boys.

Watch Russell kick some ass this year....and...at the end of the year when the Skins have an opportunity to offer him a deal, they'll let him go. See that one before, y'all?

LOL :D Me too. I also think Champ is overrated. He should stay but right now its not about winning, its about buying a helicoptor or something stupid

Wouldn't it be nice to see Russell perform like Gardner did?

he's quite capable, only he has a little more of a knack for getting the qb than gardner did, which is more than a welcome site....
