Mcnabb extension?

Post by patjam77 »

Anyone else a little worried that our Skins haven't locked up Mcnabb for a few more years? I wasn't worried at all when the trade happened because I figured Bruce Allen would have never made the trade if he didn't get a verbal commitment from Donovan about resigning.

As training camp nears though, it's going to become less and less likely he extends anytime soon.

I'm Mr. Pessamistic but even I can't help but think things are gonna be good this year and I'd hate for all this to be one and done. Especially with what they gave up to get Mcnabb.

Thoughts? Comments? Flames? :)

I was watching NFL network and they were sayin that they're waiting for Brady and Manning to set the ceiling in order to get an idea where he fits in the dollar scheme. And they didn't sound the least bit concerned.
...any given Sunday....

RIP #21 Sean Taylor. You will be loved and adored by Redskins fans forever!!!!!

Everyone is nervous about long term contracts this year. In addition to vets like Brady, Manning, McNabb & Brown, high draft picks are mostly unsigned. Only 2 2nd round picks & no 1st round picks have signed.

Not unusual for this time of the year for the number of unsigned draft picks. That 's what happens ... everyone wants to see what the guy drafted after them gets and they want that much plus a little more. Once camps open there'll be signings.

To some extent, you are right, but this year it is more pronounced.

I'm not going to be worried unless McNabb starts grumbling a bit, which I doubt we'll ever see since he's always be quite the "company man".

Guys, I know McNugget and Bruce Allen have said all the right things about this, but I don't like these "grumblings" about Minnesota.

I would absolutely flip a lid.

OK OK... I'm calming down.
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

McNabb is a loyal guy and he says he's staying a long time. The odds he's leaving seem very low to me. Right now I don't see any reason for either side to rush either. I think the only reason to worry is your self described pessimism. Not that anything is guaranteed, but it just seems unlikely there's going to be an actual issue.
