The Haynesworth Reception
It's just a matter of days until this offseason's most expensive topic reaches a conclusion. For now that is. It is especially interesting because of how far apart the two sides seemed to be and how outspoken so many were. It's likely to be an incredibly awkward first day of minicamp, with nearly a hundred offseason attendees and one oddball who doesn't even know where to line up. Will Shanahan and the Redskins get him in line and have a smooth training camp? Will the players be warm to him or cold? Is he ultimately worth it?

It's really up to Haynesworth, now, isn't it? Haslett is not about to let him do anything he wants... Albert knows that coming in... The players have been remarkably candid about their thoughts, but it is a very professional and mature crew. Haynesworth will get slack from them if he comes in without the chip... again, that's up to him.
Every one of the above predictions is plausible. He can come in and try to blow up the Redskins... or he can come in and try to blow up the Cowboys, Giants, and Eagles.
If he is really interested in moving on, he'll chose the latter. While he is immature and egocentric, he is also no fool. He knows that his route to another lucrative contract with another team is to bust his tail with the Redskins.

Pulls up lame on the exercise bike ... misses the whole season . Skins go 16-0 and hammer the Colts in the superbowl. Shanahan is heard to say 'who the hell is Haynesworth' in his victory speech.
Dan Synder calls for questions, Randel El is among the crowd and puts up his hand. Synder assumes he is just signaling for another fair catch and so ignores him.
I know it happened .. cos I was there

I think he comes in and plays like Shanahan wants him to play. He likes the money so he's gonna hang around.
...any given Sunday....

I think it's one of those work related situations where there is alot of contempt and words said but when he shows up in shape and isn't making demands everyone will just be happier that he's here. I think if we have great success he will stay but I really think the key to the success is Maake playing well enough to control the center with Haynesworth at DE. He hasn't ever played DE in a 3-4, right? What would he know about what he could do at end? Shanahan said eveyone must play multiple positions(except Maake) Could be that a freak like Albert coming from the end in a 3-4 is just as good when Orakpo is flying past him.
I think that Haynesworth realizes that what is best for him is to play well this coming season - he'll get an opportunity to get things straight with the players and coaches and the future will take care of itself
I don't like what he did or how he behaved but I still think he will show up in shape and try to show that he's a dominant defensive player because no matter what happens that is in his best interest
I'm taking the 'other' in the choices presented

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
