Where are all of the people who were saying Haynesworth is ok and the media created this story? What happened to all will be fine cause he'll show up for mandatory stuff??
At this point, the Skins have no choice but to try and trade him. Otherwise we are in for a long season.
I dont know what kind of value we can get for him now - but this guy is a huge pile of $h*t

So you would rather him give Daniel Snyder back a few million and let him go for nothing as opposed to trading him to a loser organization and getting draft picks??
If we don't trade him, the only option is to tell him to kiss our A$$ and let him sit out - then recoup money as best as we can.

Fine him every day he doesn't show up. No team is going to give up anything to get him, so might as well keep him on the squad and fine him or suspend him from the team with no pay.
Thanks a ton Vinnie.

Some interesting info in this article....
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/15/AR2010061505348.html?sid=ST2010061505455
In fact, Shanahan told Haynesworth he would be displeased if Haynesworth had more than two sacks this season, according to people familiar with the situation. While commenting on the decision to pay Haynesworth so much more than the league's other defensive tackles, a former top Redskins official cited Haynesworth's total of 14.5 sacks combined in the 2007-08 seasons -- a large number for an interior lineman.
"He feels if he stays in Washington then the best years of his career are in the past. Coaches throughout the NFL independently told me last year that after watching film of the Redskins it was clear their coaches did not know what they had in Albert. Coaches and NFL personnel people have told me that relegating Albert to any base position in a 3-4 scheme makes no sense."
Despite conflicts over Haynesworth's role in the new defense, Speck said Haynesworth's desire to leave Washington after only one season is rooted more in his belief that he was lied to from the beginning of his relationship with the team. Snyder led the Redskins' pursuit of Haynesworth, according to people in the organization at the time, assuring Haynesworth he would be allowed to play aggressively.

if he wants out, he can give back all the money and walk away a free agent. other than that, make him sit. he can go down in nfl history as the most overpaid piece of crap ever!

Exactly. And given his poor attitude, that is exactly the legacy he deserves.
I've supported Haynesworth up to now. I was wrong. How much of the money can we get back if we just cut him? Even so, I'm still angry at Shanny and Allen for shifting to the 3-4. It has caused us to concentrate on the D rather than build the OL and has now cost us the best defensive lineman in the league. Now, I don't support Haynesworth, Shanny, or Allen--bad jobs all around. We'll be worse on D and still terrible on O. I predict 6 and 10, which will essentially be the same as last year-- we lost a couple on flukes.

I haven't even read all the responses yet to this but I have to say.....It is a good article that explains everything. He made it clear that he wanted to be in a 43 before he signed and said that's why he didn't go for other offers. I wish he didn't take the money but he did. He has been mislead.
Teams want him. His value is nothing now because we need to get rid of him.
It is too bad because I think he is the best right now in a 43.
Vinnie will get blamed for this but who went back on their word?
Blame Vinnie I guess right? I'm not a fan of Vinnie but everyone should have seen this coming when they decided 34.
All you can blame him on is taking the money.

The fact is that Fatboy has the biggest contract he is ever going to get. I would prove a point and fine the bejezzus out of him, then demand he repay every cent he got after the 2009 season if he wants a trade. Then I would demand 2 first round picks for him, then I would make a voodoo doll and poke a stick in his fatness, then I would.....well you get the point.

They reworked his contract this year because there is no cap...
Or
They saw this coming.
The $21M he got this off-season was converted into a signing bonus and his 2010 & 2011 base salaries were guaranteed. That allowed them to count the whole $21M this year, it also gave them the opportunity to insert voidable years in his deal (years AH can void). There is a clause in the new contract that states if Al wants out after this year he would have to pay back $16.8M of the $21M. Not sure how much he'd have to give up leaving a year early. At a minimum Hayneworth would have to find a team willing to give him $26M over the next two years to break even.
That same team will have to compensate the Redskins with players and or draft picks. A lot for a guy that hasn't been to a single NFL workout since last year.
To become a free agent Big Al would have to give up the $16M out of his own pocket and we know that ain't happening.
I think they should make him sit the whole year, if he is a no show for mini camp and TC. Next year there will be a salary cap and the Redskins will have a extra $13.2M to play with.
