Congrats to the Blackhawks. It was well-deserved. I can't help but think that it should have been the Capitals contesting them for the Cup. That would have been an even better series than this one.

I'm finally getting my head above water to post something about the last two days. Let's just say for starters that this town is going crazy! I've never seen anything like it. Maybe one of the Super Bowls in DC when I lived there, but I don't think so. The players have gone out to all the local bars and are bringing the cup with them and letting fans drink from it and hold it above their heads etc. so everyone is looking to party with it.
The team arrived yesterday morning at 4am from Philly and went to Harry Carry's and then at 5:30 went to a bar a block from my house. Helicopters woke me up. I went over and met a bunch of players. Unfortunately, the cup had already been taken to the next stop. The players couldn't even stand up straight. They were hammered.
So I took the day off yesterday. I took my two girls to park, and on the way back, a white Range Rover pulls up and parks across the street from my house. I look over and see a bearded man getting out with a hot brunette and it turns out to be Hossa. The guy lives across the street from me and I never knew. He gave me an autograph and was super cool.
Went to the parade today and got teary eyed a couple times. It was just awesome. Hopefully we can celebrate with the Skins soon! This is too fun.
I'm off to find the cup tonight. It's been in a bunch of local bars recently. Hopefully I catch up to it.

Dude... that's just what you do with Lord Stanley's cup when you own it...

TWO MILLION at the parade. I'm Scottish originally and that is almost half the population of my country (around 5million). Just really, really hard for me to fathom that amount of happy humans in one place at one time. Crazy.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom – for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
