It wasn't because of Rogers. lol! There was a reason he was benched last season, and the season before.
It kinda was. He was the second least targeted corner in the league after Asomugha. That cuts down yardage by other teams.
Obviously he can't catch. He can cover.

Shame that others don't understand this. His hands are stone, yes... but he gets them on a lot of balls. Quarterbacks don't fear him, because he doesn't convert defenses into picks... but they still want to complete passes, and Rogers, they know, gets in the way a lot more than they'd like.
By the way, SBC... if he doesn't sign his tender... he doesn't play anywhere, until 2011,,, period.

I didn't stutter... he doesn't sign... he doesn't play. That's the rule.

I thought he was gone at the end of last year, but we didn't find anyone to replace him so "yay" he's got to stay another year... my biggest problem with him is his huge cushions... I know, I know, it was the scheme, blah, blah... but his cushion was always way more than Springs or Smoot or Hall... how many times did we see him start 10 yards off the ball an 3rd and 5 and start backpeddling at the snap of the ball, only to have a slant caught in front of him for an 8-yard gain? He has been a pretty sure tackler though (especially compared to Landry), I'll give him that...
As the man said "he doesn't sign, he doesn't play" - he's playing
now .... why not hope and think that he helps the team by playing better and possibly be a part of a defense that can actually be effective and not just a top 10 defense statistically - having a top 5 defense in stats is like 'winning' the off season title each year - IT MEANS NOTHING - I'd rather be bottom 5 in 'stats' with a defense that gives the offense the ball in great field position AND stops long drives and TOP in the 4th quarter
part of a CB's job is to not let the receiver get the ball - Rogers is not a bad CB - he's not playing anywhere else this year

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

If a player does not sign by June 1, the original club can extend the qualifying offer and thereby retain exclusive rights to the player.
If the original qualifying offer is greater than 110 percent of the player’s 2009 base salary and the player does not sign that contract by June 15, the team can substitute the June 1 tender with a new June 15th tender of 110 percent of the RFA’s 2009 base salary and continue to retain exclusive rights to the player.
If the player does not sign by Week 10, he cannot play in 2010.
