Carlos Rogers? Yay or Nay?

Post by SkinsBrewCrew »

I say nay....

He's had plenty of time to get good, and he's mediocre at best, and that's being nice.

If I'm not mistaken, during camps over the years, he's been chillin, recovering from injuries and whatnot. Which played out during the regular season, for which he was benched twice. Now, with new coaches, he's in there doing things with the other players?

Then there's the bad mouthing the Redskins, and looking for another team thing. If the Redskins have offered him a tender, why is he not signing now?

Also, I read somewhere where he stated that he wanted to play "at least one more year." here in DC.... I think since I'm pretty sure we're the only team that has offered him anything, it would be wise to eat crow now huh?

Sign the tender...

I really don't like players like that.

What? Not enough to worry about?

Concur with Brad... yay.

Saying "We did..." may be a powerful argument on some boards... but, probably not here.

Dude... you could offer him 100 K per pick, and the Danny's bank account would still be perfectly safe...

Throw in drops and he would lead the league. Carlos would have made a heck of a volleyball player. Still he's better than every other corner on our team aside from D Hall. He has reason to play well this year, we will have him on the cheap...I don't see how this is a losing deal.

Keep him, I think he plays good most of the time. He just can't catch at all.

If he had caught half of the interceptions that he dropped, he wouldn't be begging for a new deal.

He's good in coverage, just not for picks. Since we will probably keep 5 CB's, & I'm sure he's 1 of the top 5 CB's on our roster...

My only issue with Carlos was that he seemed to give up on some plays. I recall him slowing up to a jog at times after getting beat, and that didn't sit well with me.

Overall, he's a good corner. He's not a liability in coverage. But, he could make the jump from good to very good, if he only were able to improve. I don't know if that's a matter of work ethic, concentration, or effort. Either way, he's right where he deserves....on the roster without a new deal.

Rogers is a solid corner. From "swinging gate" Zorn to pathetic QB play people still somehow find ways to pick on Carlos Rogers?

I say Yay give him a chance to play on a successful team. He has always been solid. He has had his share of bad games but he has more good games then bad.

He's not a shut down corner, so if we had a shut down corner who could play, I would say nay, but we need him this year. Yea

Nay. Get rid of Carlos, Haynesworth, Rocky, and anyone else who talks bad to Shanny. We'd have the top draft pick next season.

We can't afford to get rid of him this year; however, I hope that this is his last year with the team. We can't continue to keep starting a cb that can't catch anything. You can't give NFL offenses second chances, which is what happens every time CR drops catchable balls. On top of that his attitude on the field really irks me. Rogers can get beat badly but get bailed out by a receiver dropping a ball, and he'll be celebrating as if he just made some amazing play on the ball.

like him or not, he was part of a secondary that was in first for a long period of time last year, with an offense that was barely on the field.

It wasn't because of Rogers. lol! There was a reason he was benched last season, and the season before.
