I agree. He is athletic and could be a good find at the Right Tackle spot. It looks like his chances of playing on the Left are slim to none. Just about every team's front office passed on him as a starter on the blind side.

I agree the trade down is likely, then still more O-line. there are a lot of T/G's out there that fit the zone scheme well. with our situation, I could dig the, "throw enough at the wall until we get some to stick" philosophy.
with the way QB's have slid, that might make it easier to wait til very late to get one. Jevan Snead looks like a Shanahan-type guy. his low-lights are terrible, but his highlights and potential were great. remember reading somewhere that Shannahan scouts heavily based on a players highlites, believing he can bring the best out. dude was projected as a top 10 prospect by some going into this year. but then after this season, I heard there was a point at which Houston Nutt told him he would have to fight for his starting job next year. that, combined with guys like Todd McShay predicting he would be a 1st rounder this year, prompted him and his family to decide he should come out early.
he's a very high character kid though, with a lot of upside and a live arm. was this thread about Bruce Campbell?

Look, I project our tackle situation to be Trent Williams... Stephon Heyer... and that's it. Artis Hicks isn't a tackle, sure he could fill in for a couple games, but he's not a RT. I changed my mind, Campbell has got to be the best fit. Kyle Shannahan wants offensive linemen who can move, and Campbell's it. Mike Shannahan's philosophy is that a player can be coached up to their peak talent, and Bruce Campbell may be that guy. Fast, agile, strong, he had a hell of a combine and is falling due to a lack of experience in college. I'd take him in the 4th round and consider it a steal. Williams at LT and Campbell at RT makes us WORLDS better on the offensive line and if we're to have any shot at all we've got to have a good offense this season.

Actually 55, Campbell has fallen not because of experience but because he's shown to take many plays off. Game 1, Def. Cord's are going to apply pressure on his side. I'm 100% ok with moving out of that pick, getting another pick or two and getting a player just as good with potentially more upside than with Campbell.
Keep in mind that the combine was the best that Campbell ever did. The tape is awful.

Campbell is purely a depth guy at this point. Not physical enough and poor technique. He might develop over a year or two, but no way he gets a chance to start unless he is filling in for injured players. Good gamble for a 4th rounder though.
Plus, you don't move the most athletic tackle in the draft to the right side unless you are starting a left handed QB.

I would love to get Campbell with this pick simply for the value at this point and because he fills another need. If we get him and can sign Faneca as well, we'd fill three needs on one weekend.

I wonder how much Faneca has left in the tank? I stated last week I'd like to see us pick him up if the Jets did indeed waive him.
Selvish Capers might be a better fit than Campbell. Although Campbell's measurables is what has him rated this high in the first place. (He wasn't an elite college OT) So the Skins may feel they can coach him up. Capers fits the ZBS well though.

I didn't me that anyone was trying to prove that. I'm saying that--given our ineptitude at the tackle spot -- and Shanahan's history of coaching, athletic late round offensive linemen, you'd think that we would exchange our defective Heyer model, for a slightly better Campbell or Selvish model.
Stephon Heyer was undrafted for a reason, and the Redskins have proven it every time we trot him out there.
