Having No Picks Really Sucks

Post by Gibbs4Life »

God I hate this. For Donovan I can understand but the Supplemental Jeremy Jarmon move is unforgivable.

Our draft would've been SO sweet having that high of a pick in each round.

Hindsight's 20/20... many people expected Jarmon would go 2nd round after his senior year, but he was forced to declare in the supplemental draft. He was considered a steal for a future 3rd.

...I'm so bored. And I hate to see teams have multiple picks like NE, Seattle, etc.

Same here. It's so frustrating not having more picks this year. It's such a deep draft.

That's why I was cool with giving up next years first for a 2nd and 5th this year. Also, I'm very shocked we didn't move any of our players at all but if it's going to happen, it'll be overnight.

Yea I really thought that we would have made a trade or two by now. Maybe they try to trade up into the 3rd round.

The 49ers have had a RIDICULOUS draft so far. Ravens, Seahawks, and KC have done really well also.

1.) Trent Williams
2.) Donovan Mcnabb
3.) Jeremy Jarmon

Those are our 1-2-3 picks. Not too shabby.

I like those first two. Would gladly give up Jarmon to have our 3rd rounder back.

I really wish we could have moved JC for a high 3rd rounder.

Eagles are trade machines, they just keep collecting the picks.

For an NFL team that sucks as bad as we did last year to have this many picks is TRAVESTY. As our opponents add youth and depth we remain top heavy and alittle old.
-------------------------------------

That said let me try to get positive...

We have a Championship caliber QB (do I believe that?)

We have a Great Head Coach (who Denver fired?)

We have 3 former pro bowl RB's (former? How former?)

We have top 5 Defense (I thought we had Jim Haslett?)

We have playmakers on offense!! (I hope)

Certainly a legitimate concern.

G4L.. your topic name is THE TRUF!

Caps game just finished so my cousin turned to the draft, I said dude, da hell for?.. we have 0 picks today and nba playoffs are on. He turned it, now its tied at 98 btwn bos/mia. 45seconds left..

Allen gets a look at it from 3, he missed it.. Rhondo tips it out of bounce. Miami ball.. D Wade has 44points so far.. he has the ball, takes 3 pointer.. he misses. Bos grabs the rebound and calls time out.. D Wade is DOWN!. .HE'S HURT! Clinchin @ his ankle, may have landed on Allen's foot. Ok, injury timeout. Lata guyz

*EDIT*.. Paul Pierce shoots a far 2 pointer at the buzzer!!!!! ITS GOOOOOOODDDD!!!! Boston wins!!!!

We might be able to pick up Selvish Capers. And, there is Bruce Campbell in the 4th. Apparently no one believes he can play on the left, but he's got to be a better talent for the RT spot than Heyer.

LB Eric Norwood could be a steal too.

as bad as some are making it out to be - I don't think we're a playoff team this year but I also don't think we're in the top 10 next draft and maybe not even the top 15 :D

we are not going to suddenly become a consistently competitive franchise again but we are on the right track

boy oh boy - there seem to be quite a lot of fans here that think we are going to be suddenly competitive again here, and soon
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Where are you reading that? I think that we'll look better than this year and that's what most of us want to be - better.

We don't not have a third, we have Jarmon and he was a great pickup with a year under his belt already. Unfortunately he got injured but he's looking like a keeper and we would have been so much more likely not to do as well. People are just so ridiculously overemphasize players fitting the "scheme" as a litmus test. Players aren't nuts and bolts that fit or they don't and schemes aren't rigidly designed. You adjusts schemes, including for the skills you have and you find ways to use talented players.

See the guy you picked for your userid for that.
