He's got a troubled past so of course Shanahan would bring him in.

If he were running a boys choir I would have an issue with it. Since its a football team, I'm ok

I laugh so much when I see the negativity that some have. Seriously, it's a try out. It's about having guys in camp, working. Plain and simple. It's not week 1, no one is a starter. They are there to push other guys. More than anything, a little veteran leadership in camp wouldn't hurt this young squad of receivers at all.

I really hope that you're joking. Veteran leadership from a guy that publicly called out his coach and actually cheered on the sidelines, while suspended, when his quarterback was getting sacked by the opposing team?

First and foremost, it was vs the Raiders and if I remember correctly, they 100% hung him out to dry. Every player who's played there in the last 8-10 years says the same thing, "Don't go to Oakland." Anyway you can rebuttal it, he has WAAAAAYYYY more experience in the NFL than most of our WR's - and you and I for that matter so for you to sit there and criticize every decision this team makes this offseason makes you sound more and more like a sourpuss who's never satisfied with anything.

I can't wait til Thursday when we don't draft a QB (Claussen). It'll be a rough day in Alexandria.

So now experience = leadership?? In your first post you talked about Porter's leadership. Now it's not leadership, but experience? I'm all for bringing in some experienced players, but the last thing that this team needs is jerks like Porter.

I think the clip we saw is really deceiving. Granted, he used and abused Champ but his routes were just run straight up and when the ball gets there, catch it. On that last TD catch he positioned himself in the endzone where no one would get there on time. I personally like the guy with his build and his ability to catch the ball but we have someone already that's similar in my opinion (except we haven't seen him play a reg. season game yet) and that's Marko Mitchell. So with that, I say pass and pray that Mike gives Marko a chance.

Also, I'm not going to dog the guy because Oakland has serious issues as management.
