Predictions anyone?

Post by HEROHAMO »

Might as well get it out of the way early.

I expect Shanahan to fill the holes on the Oline right away. I expect either a free agent or draftee to step in on the Oline come the start of the season. When those holes are filled look out people.
Get ready for offensive nuclear explosions to occur.

This offense will become a prolific one. We now have the center piece.
Just look at our Rbs. Clinton Portis is a former Pro Bowler. Larry Johnson has had two 1700 yard seasons. Willie Parker is a former SuperBowl winner. We have the best backfield in the league. Better then even one man Peterson in Minnesota, collectively that is.

Our Receivers. Now that we have an actual QB we will really see what these young guys have. Santana Moss leads the way as the veteran. Santana could be moved to the slot or stay as the deep threat on the outside. Malcom Kelly and Devin Thomas still have alot to prove. I see no reason why they wont have good seasons.
Our tight ends, we have the already proven Chris Cooley. Oh and a young up and comer in Fred Davis. Chalk up Cooley for 60 plus receptions, 900 to 1000 yards and ten Tds. Or Chris and Fred could split those stats.

3600-4500 yards passing, 1600-1900 yards rushing and 45-70 Touchdowns is what I expect on offense.

Defense, we have plenty of talent on the defensive side as well. I expect a couple acquisitions this off season. I think we could use another rushing Lb, another Defensive lineman and a free saftie would be more down the priority list but could be used. Good defense a couple pieces away from legendary.

11-5 is my prediction for next year. Winning the NFC East and sweeping the Cowboys this year. We will split the Giants games and also sweep the Eagles. Ushering in the new winning era! Bam! Bam! Bam! Hail to the Redskins! Booya! redskinsmiley :celebrate: \:D/

Too many holes (oline, wr, rb, safety). 6-10 or 7-9.

RB? How so? I understand your cautious approach. I just disagree that RB is a need. We have three bonified Rbs.

Wide Receiver I actually think and hope these young guys will step up. Return of the three amigos. In fact we will now have five amigos. We never had a tight end like Cooley or Davis. Devin Thomas and Malcom Kelly are both third year players. So this is the year to see if they break out. I expect them to in fact I demand they break out.(whatever that means)

Oline is top priority. Clear as day. As far as saftey we could address that issue in the draft or free agency but Oline is the only obvious need. We could skate bye with Landry and Horton at saftey.

We have three over-the-hill rb's. LJ has done much since 2006 and Parker's last good season was in 2007.

They have potential, but Thomas and Kelly have a LONG way to go. Kelly needs to show that he can consistently get some separation from NFL receivers and Thomas needs to develop into a receiver. He can't just rely on his athleticism. I like Moss more than most, but is a year older and hasn't looked the same for a the past few years.

Oline is top priority. Clear as day. As far as saftey we could address that issue in the draft or free agency but Oline is the only obvious need. We could skate bye with Landry and Horton at saftey.

Even if we draft Okung, the oline is still going to be a problem next year. Expecting this unit not to struggle is wishful thinking at this point.

People can say the WR's will develop all they want, the fact remains that they haven't done squat.

How many people did Clinton Portis, Larry Johnson, and Willie Parker impress last year?

Heyer will still be the right tackle. he wouldn't start for numerous college teams.

McNabb will help.

Larry Johnson has not done much due to off the field legal problems and quarrels within the locker room. That actually is a good thing since he saved his legs by not playing much.

Clinton Portis is a question mark. He does have alot of mileage. I do hope he has some left in the tank.

Parker I am just not sure what he has left. I am positive that Larry johnson will return to pro Bowl form.

I agree. Dont forget about Cooley and Fred Davis. They count as receivers too.

Oline is the only clear need in my opinion. Fill the Oline and we will compete right away. My predictions are contingent upon this happening.

The Chiefs ran him into the ground in 2005 and 2006 when he had 752 combined carries. He's finished.

I think Johnson has the best chance to start, but a guarantee of Pro Bowl form? Really? That's a grasp.

And what makes you think that he won get into trouble with the Skins? It was only a few months ago that he made gay slurs on Twitter and openly criticized his head coach. The guy is a disgrace of a human being.

Looks like we are right on track to win the off-season Super Bowl.

Actual season record? Hmmm....let's see. Donovan McNabb's effectiveness behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league? Let me guess...5-11 at best.

Somebody needs to check and see if the man presenting himself as Bruce Allen is not, in actuality, Vinny Cerrato wearing an extremely clever disguise.
Wrong thinking is punishable.
Right thinking will be as quickly rewarded.
You will find it an effective combination.

I can see us going at least 8-8, unlike some people on here I believe Shanahan will fix the broken OL. It all hinges on Okung, if we dont draft him (because he has already gone) then we should look to trade down.

If we can sort out a trade for JCam then that gives us another draft pick

We cant sort all the offensive problems at once. McNabb solves the QB problem for now, the '3 aged amigos' can handle the running game. We concentrate on sorting the OL via the draft pick and FA.

If McNabb hangs around for 2-3 years it gives us a chance to draft a young QB next year or the year after. The rebuilding will take several years.

People were slagging the FO for not doing anything in the offseason, now they are getting slagged for trading for someone who can have an immediate impact on our offense. As for being 'kings of the offseason' ... that hat fits the Bears.

Well we know the Eagles are going to beat us twice or they wouldn't have traded us their old QB. So, I'd say 5-11.

I agree with almost everything you said.
We still are the "kings of the off season". The Mcnabb trade alone trumps any move by any other team. Unless Peyton Manning or Tom Brady get traded this move will hold as the winning move this off season.

However, it does not mean we cannot have a good season. Good post. I agree on your point of view. :D

The Skins were 4-12 last year. I thought Shanny was worth 2 wins without McNabb. I figure McNabb brings two more wins - 8-8.

I think Shanny likes what he sees in our O-Line so far and he will have it up to par for the season. I don't think Shanny would've traded for an older QB if he didn't think he could build a decent O-line to protect him.

I think this team is going to shock some people under a good head coach and with a good QB. 10-6.

10-6.....

Only if we can fill the void on the OL and keep McNabb upright and healthy. "The best backfield in the league" is only as good as their egos. It's like having three older lions in a pride that don't think they should not be the leader. They all have something to prove and unless Shanny can corrale those egos, it will be trouble. If he can find a way to get them to co-exist peacefully and get them to perform at their max when they get the ball, all that would be needed are holes for them to run through. Out of the three though, I see Willie having the most successfully because of his speed.

Can't really speak on the defense yet because we really don't know what Haslett has in store plus we don't know how much of a little girl that Fat Albert will be now that he knows he was trade bait. If he comes in out of shape, I think that Shan-Allen will cut his fat butt loose in this uncapped season and move on.

Dononvan McNabb brings a little more fire in the huddle than Jason but if he doesn't get time and protection like Jason never got, he's gonna be in for a long season. He's a veteran so some of those sacks he will avoid.

Deadskins.. I agree wit you man, wait.. did I say that? #-o

Naw for real though.. Larry isn't washed up, that's crazy to think he is. When he came in for Benson he dominated the game for Cincy. Willie and CP are both in the same situation as far as I see; both of them had major injury issues and both have some skill left to throw out there. I have NO ISSUES with our RBs. Santana will be double teamed even though he may not have that "IT factor" as in previous years. He's still the speedy guy that will burn DBs downfield and hopefully that'll release our main guy.. COOLEY! (for you haters who said get rid of him.. seriously.. ya'll still want him gone with McNabb here who LOVES throwing to his TEs?) Also the young gun Thomas is getting better but I'd really love to see Marko tall self get some playing time.

My prediction is, and will always be.. SUPERBOWL!.. I may not be realistic but I'd rather be a unrealistic Redskin fan ANYDAY as opposed to a realistic depressed NFL fan.

So my dream scenario- McNabb craps on the smeagels twice next year and he gets a SB IN DALLAS!.. OMG.. McNabb might pass out after that one! So will we! hahahahaha

GO SKINS!

but yea, we need an OL reaaaaaaaaaaaaal bad

Shoot.. I forgot.. we're going 12-3 with losses to Colts, Texans, and Gnats. Colts- Hard to see our DBs stopping all of Peyton's weapons, even with our upgraded core. Texans- 2 words.. Andre Johnson. That guy can catch over 4 people, he's done it consistantly and when we concentrate on him that'll leave Daniels and Walter wide open..*ugh*. Gnats- Simply put, they own us in recent years. I think we'll split with them but I don't see us sweeping um.

oops.. typo.. that 12 was supposed to be a 13..

the big game this coming season is in Dallas - how perfect is that for a return to glory

8-8 would be good, maybe even 9-7 - we have a lot of work to do here to turn this franchise around

H A I L
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
