my computer was caught on caps - I deleted the post

McNabb is now our QB - I love this move - this is a huge upgrade over Campbell and I do believe this guy can be an effective QB for a few more years at least

hopefully Campbell will go away
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I'll wait to pass judgment until we find out what we gave up.

I am trying to watch baseball... saw that screen crawl and my brain exploded.

I have a begrudging respect for Donovan McNabb, I think he's a top 5 QB in the league, one of the best and woefully under-appreciated. He'd instantly be the best QB the Redskins have had since Theismann, but he's 33. If we're trading spare parts, like Carter or Fletcher or late picks I guess I am okay with it, but how much more does Donny Mac have in the tank?

One would have to assume we're either dealing Campbell or rescinding his RFA tender. I really think JC could have been good under different circumstances. I wish him all the luck in the world with his next team.

ESPN says our 2nd round draft pick. Hmmm. I sort of like this, but I surely wanted to draft some lineman with the first couple of picks.

I am so stoked that our guys are making bold moves and trades to help this team - this guy will be a very stabling influence

we all know we are a few years away but we can now build up the other areas and in the 2011 draft or even 2012 find a future star to groom as the QB - we do not need to draft a QB in the lower rounds this year, we have a lot of other issues
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance

Awesome! I was just arguing with friends a couple nights ago that McNabb is (still) a good QB and that I'd love to see him a Redskin.

I just hope we didn't give up too much for him...

I dont think this kills the Bradford talk. Now the skins could potentially use Donovan as trade bait for the Rams number 1.

ESPN saying 2nd rounder and a 3rd or 4th conditional pick in 2011. If that's the case, it's a very bad move. Another typical Redskins "quick fix." We should be developing the next McNabb, not trading valuable pick for a qb that will be 34 during the season.

what do we have that the Rams want? they are certainly not swapping picks for McNabb when they could have traded for McNabb with the Eagles and picked up Suh with the top pick

My roommate, a 49ers fan, is laughing at me over this, and I really have no response. Being a Redskins fan these days is tough.

Compensation:

Redskins get: McNabb
Eagles get: 2010 37th overall pick and either a 3rd or 4th round pick in 2011 depending on his performance.

well then that also kills any possibility of Tebow, McCoy, Claussen or QB period.

who cares what team he "retires" with? - This is a huge upgrade for this team at the QB position - McNabb might play for another 3 years - this is all just part of the remaking of this franchise

we are not trying to be a playoff team the next few years - we are picking at 4 this year because we are not even close to being consistently competitive

C'MON PEOPLE - we are trying to put together a team that can be consistently competitive and that is not happening overnite for crying out loud
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
